GET YOUR LOCAL CHURCH OR PARA-CHURCH MINISTRY INVOLVED.. AND READY FOR HARVEST AMERICA!

It's time to prepare. Church leaders, para-church leaders, guess what.. we are only three months away from an awesome opportunity for all Americans! Please put March 6th 2016 on your calendar--be thinkin' friends. It's important.

I've been talking again with some great pastor friends and leaders today about the upcoming Texas.HarvestAmerica.com

Why? I want to see God work and us together with Him. For His glory.. I want to see both spiritual and numerical growth for churches across this Land. You can be apart of this. What is there that's better.. what else to reap are you going to do with your time?

"Rise up and shine for the light of God's grace has fallen upon thee." ~ A.W. Tozer ‪#‎Choice #Decisions

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.." 1 Timothy 2:1

Let's go fishing like a well-organized team!

Glad we have Him and "..we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:16‪ #‎Plural‬ #Fish4Peeps

Perhaps we.. not let em on down through the stadium roof-top-hole, but God can still use us to get em inside--and in Christ. Been reading what others did in this respect. When they couldn’t reach Jesus because of the crowd, “they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.” ~ Mark 2:1-4

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” v. 2:5

What a JOY!  I feel passionate about it cuz I know what Greg Laurie stands for and and this event is all about. It's about Christ and His Gospel and nothing more really.

Man, really nice weather out here in Dallas today--feelin' grateful for it. Just had a late breakfast out on the patio in the warm sun. Funny dog (Roxy) here lookin' on really hoping to get in on that grub.

Anyways.. I pray that you are so blessed this week, you know in a cool way where you'll be reminded that God is thinking about you and loves you!. What beats fellowship with our best of best Friends all week long--> Jesus? Nothing.

Yes Christian, hope your day and week goes super good.

Listen, if you are a local church or para-church leader within reach of Dallas or Fort Worth.. Here's a good idea for you--this week please visit a church involvement meeting. Yes, every day or evening (at different times) this week from Dec 7 through the 11th. And these will be in multiple DFW locations (Click here for info) for you and or a church rep to attend. Together with the Lord we can help coordinate this ginormous thang for God's glory! The meetings are of course in preparation for Greg Laurie's nation-wide/reaching March 6th AT&T Cowboy Stadium simulcasted-evangelism crusade.

Pray, contact me if you like.. and go. Pray, Serve, Gather. Then yes, let's pray some more for God to bless all who hear, for a harvest!.. go invite, go get, go bring with! Let's point people primarily to Jesus Christ! He is our Solution--He is America's ultimate Solution.

Some Thoughts on the Afterlife. By my pastor, Greg Laurie.

It's been said, “There are two things that are true of every person: we all want to be happy and we’re all going to die.”

Yes, death knocks at every door. There are no exceptions.

I know that sounds like a depressing thought, but consider this: only those who are prepared to die are really ready to live!

One thing is inevitable: we will die and enter the afterlife.

Ecclesiastes 3:1–2 says there is “a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die,” and in Hebrews 9:27, we read, “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (NKJV).

That “time to die” may come later than you expected. On the other hand, it may come much, much sooner. Statisticians tell us that three people die every second, 180 every minute, 11,000 every hour. That means that every day 250,000 people enter into eternity!

The psalmist writes, “Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should,” (Psalm 90:12 TLB) and “You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to You; at best, each of us is but a breath” (39:5 NLT).

Phillip of Macedon, the father of Alexander the Great, commissioned his servant to stand in his presence and every day say, “Philip, you will die.”

Before he died, Steve Jobs said, “No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to Heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it.” This is true; not even Steve Jobs escaped it.

After death comes the afterlife and then one of two destinations: Heaven or Hell. Most do not think they will go to Hell. For every American who believes he’s going to Hell, there are 120 who believe they’re going to Heaven. Yet this belief is in direct contradiction to what Jesus said: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it!” (Matthew 7:13–14 NKJV).

If we believe the Bible, most people today are not headed to Heaven. In fact, most are headed to Hell. And that is because of their own choice. And just as surely as there is a Heaven for believers, there is a Hell for nonbelievers.

God wants you to go to Heaven. That is why He sent His own Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for your sin. Trust in and follow Him and you can have the assurance of Heaven. You have God’s very word on it!

Hell is for real, too!

People are selective in their belief about God and the afterlife. For instance, they like the idea that God is loving, but they do not like the idea of a God who would send people to Hell. They don’t know how to reconcile this apparent contradiction.

They may be willing to believe that a Hitler, an Osama Bin Laden, or a member of ISIS would go to Hell, but not them or their friend. Phillip Keller points out, “In our culture, divine judgment is one of Christianity’s most offensive doctrines.”

The problem is that there is a lot of misinformation about Hell. For instance, some would say that Hell is a big party, ruled over by a cartoon devil with pitchfork, horns, hooves, and red skin; it’s all a joke. That’s not what the Bible teaches about Hell.

Know this: Hell is not a party and the devil does not rule over it.

According to Jesus,Hell was created for the devil and his angels.
The last thing God wants is for any person created in His image to end up in Hell.
Some might think Jesus would never have discussed such a thing as Hell. He is, after all, the personification of love and compassion. But it’s because He loves us that He spoke about and warned of it often.

The same Jesus who tells us of Heaven with all its glories also tells of Hell with all its horrors. He would never have said these things if they were not true. Most of the biblical teaching on the subject of Hell comes from Christ Himself. Jesus spoke more about judgment and Hell than about any other topic. Of about 40 parables that Jesus told, more than half of them relate to God’s eternal judgment of sinners.

Make no mistake about it: Hell is a real place for real people. As J.I. Packer wrote, “An endless Hell can no more be removed from the New Testament than an endless Heaven can.”

Years ago, John Lennon famously sang, “Imagine there’s no Heaven. It’s easy if you try. No Hell below us, above us only sky.”

You can “imagine” all you want, but Hell is real.

That is why we want to do everything we can to warn our friends and loved ones about it.
We need to tell them that God loves them and wants them in Heaven.
And is only possible by putting your faith in Jesus Christ.

So why the Great Commission.. for all Christians? Cuz God wants it like that. Likes to bless.

In the Great Commission, we are commanded by Jesus to go and verbally communicate His good news of salvation to as many people as we can. If they respond to this message, we are to “make disciples” of them. That is, we are to help them to be grounded in their faith and be integrated into a local church. Then, we are to go and repeat this process.

Paul writes, “We proclaim Christ! We warn everyone we meet, and we teach everyone we can, all that we know about him, so that, if possible, we may bring every man up to his full maturity in Christ” (Colossians 1:28 PHP). That’s the objective: lead people to Jesus and bring them to maturity.

We ain't done yet. Our mission here never ends as long as we are still suckin' air if ya will.

Jesus was born of a virgin to die.. so that we might really live, and so that others we know might also really live. He is love and so near "..and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

"Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means 'God is with us.'" Matt. 1:23 nlt

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." Isa. 7:14

Jesus came down to show us the Father. He, the living Word, is the very revelation of God to us and He alone is the only way for you into His holy heavn. No lie. He, the God-man, became flesh and dwelt among us. You can have a two-way relationship with Him cuz He is the way. Yup, Jesus came into this world to love and save sinners. And the cool thing - He ..even today.. chooses to use ordinary people like us in this.

So our hearts are full, are blessed and joyous inside. we are totally stoked-out to the max cuz of the Cross, are even expectant, yes, just longin' to meet with and to hear from the Word today. And Jesus wants to commune with you too!

We still pray for biblical revival and awakening in this Land. How about you in your Land? We here in the U.S.A. look up and we expect from God good things. He can change us. Washington isn't our main focus. So we say glory to the Lamb that was slain and will reign forever! Feelin' so grateful. Have you drifted away some? Turn and come back to Christ now! Have you never been spiritually regenerated inside? Wanna be a part of God's excellent "addin' to His Church" kinda work? You can be.

FYI: The next #HarvestAmerica.com simulcasted evangelistic arena event with @GregLaurie is tentatively scheduled for October 5th, from right here in #Dallas, #Texas! So excited 'bout it! Dallas has been the aim for several months now. You can pray even now for that. I'm so greatful for Jack Graham and so many pastors here who have really gone to bat for soul-winning in relation to this nationwide (and of course via the web worldwide) outreach. You probably already know that some 36,000 people heard the Gospel and clearly indicated that they made a profession of faith in Jesus through via Greg's various ministry channels. Let's help and see God do it again, but even more so.

Evangelism a.k.a. 'soul-winning' if you will, this ain't some uber-exalted 'calling' that's reserved exclusively for an uber-special few 'paid professionals', you know, for 'those men of the cloth' with high-falutin degrees, for the so called anointed 'clergy experts' by themselves. No, no! Only One has ever been an expert in this area and that is Christ, but He hopes to use you and me. He alone can save people, so we should trust Him to through us. It's a calling for you today. Yes, this is for all spiritually born-again believers everywhere to take part in, and it's also a thrilling privilege just to let the Lord daily lead in this work! Please know Him well. Please make Him well known! You know that our time here is short. Go tell!"

"One of the greatest priorities of the church today is to mobilize the laity to do the work of evangelism." @BillyGraham

While glancing back from time to time makes us feel so thankful inside..just thinkin' 'bout what God has pulled off this year (and clearly He has been working in lives around us)..lookin' to Him for now, for today and looking forward is always more wooing and engaging for us. How come? Well, because, as Spirit-born believers in Jesus Christ, the Great Commission from Him has not yet seen closure.

We ain't done yet. Our mission here never ends as long as we are still suckin' air if ya will. You be here, I'm here and there's a reason for that. Yes, as long as there are people on this planet who are spiritually dead inside - literally separated from the Bible Lord, we are called as Christ's ambassadors to reach out with God's passion to explain the Plan, to bring them His living hope according to the Scriptures! Many might not say it to you yet.. but I just want to say thank you for obeying Him in 2013, for bein' a shining witness for Christ in this dark world! Thanks gobs for sharing Christ's Message. May the Lord reward you for He is mindful and has not forgot your labor of love. May you have the most blessed Christmas and new year ever! Let's prayerfully advance in Him and into 2014 together!

"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." Isa. 53:6

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on Him." Jn. 3:36
Dear God, we celebrate this wonderful season because You sent Jesus to actually come here to be with us. And He wants to be close now as well. Father, we thank and praise You for this. Now please help us to be more aware of our Lord's presence. We desire to live 100 percent for you every day by the power of the Holy Spirit. Every hour we need You. And God, we have friends, coworkers, and relatives who still need to repent (turn around to You, to change) and to be born again of your Spirit. What is more important than that and our time here is so limited. God, as we remember our dear friend, Billy Graham today ..with his physical health now in decline, please touch and minister to him. Please give each of us Your strong love inside, Your anointing that breaks the yoke of bondage, and Your sense of urgency and rescuing attitude. Thank you so much for all the good examples You've given us in the Bible and in our world today. Help each of us to be a good example of holy and biblical evangelistic zeal. God, I pray that you would use, guide, and indeed aid Greg Laurie with Harvest America in 2014 like never before. Let many local churches be blessed because of our prayers and united efforts. We worship you today! Lord, please do use each of us today to be more effective, more fruitful, more impacting as wise witnesses for Christ.. in Jesus name.

"Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling...

..and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding JOY.."  Jude 1:24

P.  Lord God, we rejoice in You! Thank you so much Lord for what You did. Thanks for blessing Greg Laurie and the Harvest team. Jesus, we love You. Thanks for pouring ouy Your mighty grace, unmatched love, and tender mercies on those in Philly and on those across this needy nation.. and even around the world on those who were watching or hearing from different places. God, let those words they heard there, over the radio, and on the web be remembered long. Let the fruit abide and not fall away. Thank you so much Jesus for your peace and valuable forgiveness. You are the greatest Gift of all gifts! Now, please assist each new believer as they START to grow spiritually and have this wonderful assurance inside of what just happened in their hearts. How beautiful! We praise You for it. You saved them in the greatest sense of that S-term! Please refresh the minister, the servants who supported, and those who received You. Tkx gobs! Amen.

Think about Him and His work today. God still does no greater miracle than saving someone!

How cool was that whole thang!!!.. simulcasting the #Gospel live and clear to more than 3,500 venues across the #USA and to 22 nations around the world! Missions effort making a difference! Man, it was more like #HarvestNations rather than #HarvestAmerica huh. More than 27,500 people from the Philadelphia area alone attended the crusade there, with 2,248 making commitments to Christ over the two nights (Sat & Sun). And another 1,815 indicated making a commitment to #Jesus Christ while watching online yesterday alone (Sunday). In addition, there were 700 US radio stations tuned in and at least 52,000 individuals logged on to receive this live-stream of the event online via their computers or mobile devices. Incredible! We're talkin' 50,000 new #Facebook likes, 7,500 new #Twitter followers, 7,791 #tweets, and 5 ½ million views on twitter with 10,000 photos on #Instagram! Let Your Kingdom come on earth even more. Extend the reach of Your unified Church with Your Message again! Yes Lord, let's do it again in 2014.

Life, Liberty and in this Land, the hot Pursuit of desired Happiness.. "If there is no God, there will be no happiness. But if you know God, you will know happiness. Not from seeking it, but from seeking Him." ~ Greg Laurie

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." ~ Jesus, Matt. 6:33

Been talkin' with some babies the last two days and been praying for all the people that made this new commitment to Jesus this weekend. Please join me in prayin' for them, saints, for the new believers so that each one of them will sense the Lord's presence, and faithful love, and then will cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He leads them into personal Bible study (so enjoyable too), into candid prayer time alone and all throughout their day.. with thanksgiving, into a Bible-teaching local church where they will find real friends and fit...you know, a fellowship with a saved, spiritual shepherd who really loves and ministers the Word...so that they each one will START sharing their new faith with lost buddies in a non-religious Way. Man, what a blessing they'll experience when they get plugged in with Christ's Body (the Church/I mean with real believers who are growing in the truth and grace) and to learn the Essentials from the Bible, and even some basic disciplines that will help them in every area....so they'll become firmly grounded in their new friendship with #Christ and in their biblcial faith.

You might have felt something when you prayed, or you might have felt nothing. We don't walk by feelings so either way, are you a new Christian who is determined you're gunna START to grow in Christ? Start here...

Feeling so grateful and stoked to see a part of the harvest come in at Harvest America 2012

Don't you just love to sing to, hear more about, and also talk about Christ with His people? I sure do. Don't you also really love to see people responding to the Gospel Message - babies being born.. again? I love to simply be around that happening. Nothing beats being near that while here on earth. Did you get a chance to hear this most important Message - the Gospel?

What a wonderful King we serve. Merciful and gracious - a forgiving God!  "God has done exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever imagine." ~ Pastor Chuck Smith

So glad that Jesus isn't merely One who used to save, heal, deliver, restore, revive, and help people. It's so cool that He still does what He always did.. cuz of His great love for people. Yes, He indeed is the same yesterday, today, and forever ..and He will indeed be there for you tomorrow.

Liney, and I really had great time in Dallas tonight at the first Harvest America event with our friends. And we were so blessed to see my former pastor friend, Greg Laurie and the Harvest team do such an uber-excellent job all the way through the entire event. No squeezing for bucks, no manipulation of emotions, no religious or churchy weirdness, no phoniness, but it was authentically loving and generously giving out the truth without compromise. What examples to follow in this.

They kept it simple, straightforward, clear and to the point and God was glorified. We called pastors, churches and people for many months, but God blessed and it was a big success. How can I even describe it for you who couldn't make it this time?

My short vids clips below of course don't even come close to doing it justice. Fellowship, soul-winning and things like these are meant to be experienced up close, and firsthand rather than from too far away where it's not personal.

One thing is for sure. God is up close all the time. The Kingdom of God is at hand. The Spirit of Jesus is right near you, no matter where you are or what you have to share with Him. He loves you everyday.

Man, I just feel like worshiping the Lord all the more now. Liney and I kinda had a spontaneous fellowship after-party with friends at our house just to continue with the time of celebrating. Don't want the blessing to end.

I am writing this because I sincerely want to say.. Thank you to all those who prayed for it, who showed up to support Greg, Jack Graham and all the other pastors around the nation. We sure saw a whole lot of people turn and come to Christ where we were. What a privilege to be apart of what God is pulling off in these last days before the Rapture of the Church!

Did you know that there were 41,000 people at Angel Stadium last night, with 600 Christian Radio Stations (let alone the Christian TV networks) that aired it live, and that there were 4,288 responding in the affirmative to the accept-or-reject, yes or no proposition? Last night! There were. Awesome huh and only God knows what happened tonight (8/26). It will be interesting to hear about more of this weekend's outreach results as the days roll by ..I mean from the 2,000 venues all across America.

It was real, it was unique, it was basically the power of the Gospel that was so evident. People were literally shaking and in tears around us as they watched so many people stream forward to trust Christ. Thanks and all glory to God! Great things He has done.

Be encouraged to be proactive in establishing this love relationship with God now. Read your new/old Bible every day (write if you don't have one). Pray in your own words to God every day - He'll hear you. Find a church fellowship with spiritual, born again believers who are growing in the Word rather than lukewarm, worldly-minded, or carnal with compromising behavior. And go tell someone about this decision that you made. Let Jesus be Lord of every moment, leading, guiding, and ministering to you as you minister to Him and to others. Yes, if you prayed for the first time tonight and you now need some follow-up attention if you will, or you just need to connect with Greg and God's people better... as you take deep root in the living Word of God, then please click here. We rejoice with you and want to continue to praise God for what He has done in your life.

Exalt, lift up on high the Name of Jesus. Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus the King.
I say don't just be a believer, be a disciple for Christ. Every disciple is a believer, but unfortunately not every believer is a disciple following the Lord's lead. I say worship the Lord wholeheartedly..daily and with other believers. Be yourself in Him. Don’t be afraid to start humbly ministering God’s love early on. So many need it – more now that ever. It’s God’s will that we each become a part of a Bible teaching, praying fellowship where we can have a part even if we aren’t called to become a full time preacher of sorts. Use wisdom, pray, and refuse to be embarrassed to share your faith in Christ.

It is so easy to become a spectator in even a decent, healthy local church rather than a vital spiritual participant. It is way easy to become critical, to critique in a wrong way, to become somewhat of an armchair quarterback while others are trying to minister. You know what I mean; it’s easy to watch a baseball game on TV and say, "Man, that was stupid and wrong” (when it was just a preference call and not wrong ). “Man, I would have never thrown that type of pitch at this point of the game. Dumb.” But Hey, if you have ever played baseball, then it's kind of a different matter altogether when out there on the diamond huh.
President Theodore Roosevelt once said: "It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out where the strong stumbled or how the doer could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is in the arena, his face marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and falls short again and again: There is no effort without error." God just wants you to be yourself in Christ and function well in His body.. "And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What's more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God."  2/5one.pete.bible
So SO thank-deserving and bragify-worthy (I guess that's a new term) ..is Christ! Yes, it's good to brag on Jesus more than about anyone else cuz no one has done what He has done for others. No one is more wonderful than Him and rest assured that Jesus will be loyal to you, and fully faithful as you go the distance with Him.

"Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the Majesty." 29|11one.chr.

Can I say it once again? Thank you for taking part. You know that it takes us all praying and working together in unity. I know that Greg and Cathe Laurie are feelin' blessed. And the angels in heaven are literally rejoicing over the harvest that Christ reached out to save tonight. I'm ready to start praying for Harvest America 2013.. if Christ doesn't return before then. Again, it was also so great to hear all our friends quoting the Gospel out loud.. from John 3:16.. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Nothin’ and no one on earth lie beyond...

..the reach of prayer—beyond the reach of our passionate rescuing Savior, Jesus Christ, except that which lies outside the will of God, and those who’ve stubbornly refused to listen to God’s Word unto perdition.
Huh?
Wanna encourage and remind you to hit your knees for the cause of Jesus Christ. No better use of your time! If they are alive physically, then lets pray for lost people around us today, so that they can become alive spiritually (see John 3 in the Bible)!
I mean, let’s be done with frivolous, selfish, and lesser things (ain’t pointin’ the finger at no one here..), and pray for those we care about..and even reach out to other peeps in need ..yup, as long as they are still suckin’ air so to speak.
Join us. I dare ya if I may!
Need something to pray for? Pray for those who need to show up or listen in at Angel/Dodger Stadium soon. There will indeed be some gnarly bands jammin’! Yes, join us in prayin’ for Greg Laurie’s California Harvest Crusade. It’ll be this week at Angel Stadium in the OC. Yeah in Christ, let’s join our hearts and faith together in praying for him even now, for his team, the singers, bands, and that God will prepare the <3s of those who will listen via internet, via radio, or be there in person.
Yes, so that there’ll be a great harvest of people turning to Christ from the stuff that destroys em, to be born again spiritually for God’s glory.
How can I help? Well, start by prayin’. Tell a friend to take a listen.
Heard it said, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I ought to do. What I ought to do, by the grace of God, I will do.”
One godly man or woman can make a rad-dramatic difference, even in the darkest of circumstances. Jesus put it this way:
“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:13 NLT). knowGod.org

Thinking 'Bout The Holiday That Many Overlook

Which holiday is your favorite? I like Easter (Ress day) the best. I'd be a mess without that day having happened! Which one is not the one that brings in the most bucks to town for merchants? You got it, and that's the one right around the corner for us all. Are you and yours ready to celebrate this holiday? I am! You wouldn't even believe how great my wife can cook. Yikes! And she is known all around for her incredible pies. But if I ever get feeling down, I simply start thanking the Lord outloud and it isn't long before I see how blessed I really am. I think it is very difficult for any Christian to feel like complaining long when they chose to be grateful out loud to the Lord (and I don't mean that there is never a time to complain about something ligitimate to the right people in authority). Let's start now and be thankful this Thanksgiving Season OK.

Let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips,
giving thanks to His Name. ~Hebrews 13:15

Perhaps you don't feel quite like thanking the Lord right now. Perhaps you need to get some junk off your chest in prayer that's been bugging you for a long time? I say go for it and then thank Him (See Phil. 4:6). Come on let's face it, there's been a lot going on in the last couple weeks in Washington, in your town, in my town etc (I won't go into how I feel about all that has played out right now). But just the same ..amidst all the bogus stuff.. there are many things we can still enthusiastically thank the Lord for. We don't have to wait until we get "in the mood" to thank the Lord, for we are to do that "IN" all circumstances ..all year long (not "FOR" all the circumstances we face, cuz frankly not all of em are what should be happening..). We are to give thankst to God as we honestly express such gratitude IN Jesus Christ. God the Father hears us because of the cross and so that's the first thing that I am grateful for. I thank God for the resserection too.. and for my wife.. for our health, for our friends--yes you being there! I thank God that we live in a Nation where we can evangelize and preach the Gospel without going to jail. Who knows how much longer we will be able to do this legally. I thank God that He has an eternal purpose for you and I being here still, but I also thank Him that the rapture of the Church.. where Christians will be caught away in a flash.. could happen today! I thank God that praising Him in healthy too.

Billy Graham once said, "Nothing turns us into bitter, selfish, dissatisfied people more quickly than an ungrateful heart. And nothing will do more to restore contentment and the joy of our salvation than a true spirit of thankfulness."

A grumbling mood of discontent gives way to thankfulness
When we consider all God's gifts and all that we possess. —Sper

Really, let's choose ..in spite of it all, no matter what you're facing today.. to be thankful people in the Lord! Here's a couple Thanksgiving poems that I enjoyed today and thought you might also like..

For beauty in nature, Your glory we see
For joy and health, friends and family,
For daily provision, Your mercy and care
These are the blessings You graciously share.
So today we offer this response of praise
With a promise to follow You all of our days. ~Mary Fairchild

Here's another one..

Lord, so often times, as any other day
When we sit down to our meal and pray

We hurry along and make fast the blessing
Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing

We're slaves to the olfactory overload
We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold

But Lord, I'd like to take a few minute more
To really give thanks to what I'm thankful for

For my family, my health, a nice soft bed
My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head

I'm thankful right now to be surrounded by those
Whose lives touch me more than they'll ever possibly know

Thankful Lord, that You've blessed me beyond measure
Thankful that in my heart lives life's greatest treasure

That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place
And I'm ever so grateful for Your unending grace

So please, heavenly Father, bless this food You've provided
And bless each and every person invited Amen! ~Scott Wesemann

Please do have a great holiday; a prayerful one where you obey the promptings of the Spirit! He might ask you to share your own story with a relative or lonely friend, of how you came to faith in Christ. Remember, you won't be alone.. not even one day. OK, enough preachyness from me! Please remember to pray for the Zollenger family who lost Bill recently. Got a moment for a few more thoughts from my ole pastor Greg regarding this holiday? He can say it so much better than I.

Pogo Does Dallas

Liney and I recently received a text message from "Pogo," a former California biker pastor of mine about a Dallas showing of his new docudrama movie called, Lost Boy: The Next Chapter (as did countless of his other dear Facebook / Twitter buds who also got it).

You see, Greg Laurie leads this tiny little struggling church on the backside of the desert there called Harvest Christian Fellowship ..that.. well lets say had more than 15,000 people in active attendance by 2003 and has really grown since then. He's not really some success guru, he just cares about a lot of people. More about him later.. you probably already know him from his wonderful stadium crusades or radio program called, A New Beginning.

Anyway, that message informed us that, "The bald eagle had landed" meaning Greg who is in fact somewhat folically challenged by his own admission (..denial ain't a river running through Egypt), along with his son Jonathan had just arrived here in the Big D and they were headed off to the location were we "the viewers" were to go meet them. Hey, we joined in out of curiosity.

Was the movie lame and a total waste of everyone's time?

No, on the contrary, it actually was pretty cool. In fact, I really think that you, your family members, and friends would do well to see or get Lost Boy: The Next Chapter. Liney and I had a chance to briefly thank Greg for it too... but what's important now is that you check it out and tell me or better yet, Pogo - that's his nickname, what you really think. I know that's what he would like, because it might just make your day like it did ours.
