The bullet had somehow fallen from the sky near Wycliff Street downtown in the Big D on July 4th and she was very ticked off about it. Can't blame her at all! Some cowboy-reveler probably had too much Jose Quervo in em (I used to drink buckets of that stuff and I know firsthand what it can do to yer mind on the 4th of July..).
That guy (and the photo here is not the shooter, but how I think he looks) just recklessly shot it up into the sky (at least the position of the hole in her moonroof suggested the downward direction and that it bounced up there). That might simply be an indigenous Texas way to celebrate the National holiday, but I'm grateful that she is OK.
We hope you had a good holiday time with your friends and no one got blown up over there. My wife is so funny. She has another week off and carefully put out small American flags and stuck them into the ground all around our front yard (yard art etc ..that's a Texas thang too). I'm very grateful for her though.
What else am I'm grateful for today? I thank God for the people who discovered and established our great nation …really! We hear that kind of talk a lot but they were cool! So many of them not only knew the Lord personally, but they boldly pointed others to Christ and taught them (and us) from the Bible what right and wrong really are. That seems to have become more and more confusing today for many ..maybe because the video games, TVs, and other distracting entertainment machines are running too much and the Bible on Mp3 is playing too little (if at all). But I am grateful that our nation was founded on the Bible! This Book will keep you from sin and sin will keep you from this Book, Christian. Abraham Lincoln said, "All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated through this Book; but for this Book we could not know right from wrong. All the things desirable to man are contained in it." What's tremendous is that we can still benefit and learn from our forefathers today, by simply reading what they believed and how they lived.
"The Bible is the cornerstone of liberty." —T. Jefferson
"The Hand of providence has been so conspicuous in all this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations." —George Washington
"The Word of God is the Rock on which this Republic rests." —Andrew Jackson
—John Adams
"It is no slight testimonial, both to the merit and worth of Christianity, that in all ages since its promulgation the great mass of those who have risen to eminence by their profound wisdom and integrity have recognized and reverenced Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of the living God." —John Quincy Adams
"The Bible is the Rock on which our republic rests." —A. Jackson
The ACLU and their angry devotees can fight, and kick, and picket and get ugly, and invest millions of dollars in removing "In God We Trust" and the Ten Commandments and all the other positive words about God from public places all over this land for years to come… from high school football games, from elementary schools, from court rooms etc… but that that won't make their guilty conscience feel any better inside. Hey I was guilty as a python, but Jesus can forgive anyone. Lots of sceaming and motions outside of the shower will not get anyone clean. You gotta get under the spout where the glory comes out!
And have you ever been to Washington D.C. and looked around there some? Words that glorify the Lord and what He taught are everywhere—words that extol His majestic beauty, His unchanging truth, His wonderful character, His helpful precepts, and His superior GREATNESS are literally inscribed all over that town in heavy concrete, in iron and in marble! Monuments with messages that point us in the right direction and aid us in how we are to live (ideas that if applied would be best for our families—everyone here) are all there.
