When family members opt to point the finger downward, falsely accuse, misrepresent, reject, exclude, or seek to punish faithful Christian parents who have done no wrong, they initially cause some pain, sure (we've all that that before). They may intend some harm, but God can use even that painful experience for good to bless you.. The loss is real, can't deny that.. yet it does not diminish the grace or the believer's true inheritance.
- What!?: God does not necessarily cause every bad or painful event, but He allows some things to be sifted through his fingers into our lives. We didn't invite those things. He actively orchestrates and redeems all situations (the good, the bad, and the painful) for the ultimate benefit of those who trust in Jesus.
- What!?: Repentance, faith, and regeneration ar so important. This verse answers what the "good" is. It is not necessarily earthly comfort or happiness here, but spiritual transformation. God's plan is to shape believers to become like Jesus Christ. That's why he allows some hard things into our lives.
- There are indeed a lot of blessings to daily thank the Lord for and we can also give praise to him in all circumstances. Not necessarily for all circumstances.
1 Thessalonians 5:18."Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." (NIV)
Ephesians 5:20: "Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Philippians 4:6: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Colossians 3:17: "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Psalm 107:1: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."
Our hope has never rested ultimately in human approval, family acceptance, or earthly relationships. People let us down. Even some Christians might lay you down. God won't. People repeatedly push you out because they were never a part of you. Their family is that of the cold world system, not the church family you enjoy fellowshipping with.
We have the Lord Himself inside. You called upon his name. You turned to him and invited him in, right? We have our Father in heaven, our Savior Jesus Christ, leading as Lord, the indwelling comforting Holy Spirit, the warm family of God, and the good unchanging promises of Scripture. No person can take those treasures away. from you parents. Be encouraged and keep on believing. It's too early to quit praying.
The believer who has God as his own portion possesses far greater riches than anything this world can offer people.
Human relationships may fail you, but God will never leave you or forsake you, believer. That's his promise. He will never, no never abandon His children. God supplies every need, comforts every sorrow, strengthens every weakness, guides every step, walks with us through every dark valley, and will one day bring us safely home to Himself.
"I often feel very grateful to God that I have undergone fearful depression. I know the borders of despair and the horrible brink of that gulf of darkness into which my feet have almost gone. But hundreds of times I have been able to give a helpful grip to brethren and sisters who have come into that same condition, which grip I could never have given if I had not known their deep despondency." ~ Charles H. Spurgeon
They scoff at our evangelistic zeal and passion, but it remains our determination by faith to bring some willing lovers of truth (open to what's really so) home with us.
"When thou hast God for thy portion, thou hast far more than all else put together." ~ Charles H. Spurgeon
There are lots of them in our world. Jesus said there would be. Simply forgive those isolated fools deep in your heart. Listen, you don't have to block them completely oust or cut them off the way they like to oust you. I say, limit your time together with carnal Christians, with dead religious folk, with cultists who don't want to hear the truth, with the close-minded lost folk aka "know it all worldly people" who are not open to Bible truth.. those who try to hurt, train or oppress their own parents when that is not called for.
This weirdness probably started in their hearts long ago. Maybe at/in the wrong school, and remained seditious and secretive without you knowing. Sadly, most adults (calloused, hard-hearted or seared) do not change. They must be born again, we all must, because Jesus said: "You must be born again" John 3. They weren't born right the first time. None were.
There are other warm-hearted, non-deceived people in your future who are open to the true gospel message and all the truths God has given to us through the Scriptures.
The Christian's greatest treasure is not what has been lost due to their push, push, push with judgmental condemnation, but Who remains in their life forever! KnowGod.org
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
