Null, nada, zip is better on you. So put on the armor -- put on Christ. Let Him lead you as Lord.

A lot of so called Christians wish that the Apostle Paul had written these words instead of what he actually wrote down for us:

“Lay back and relax, then, with the belt of evasion buckled loosely around your waist, with the breastplate of defensiveness in place, and with your feet fitted with the pluralism that offends no one. In addition to all this, take up the shield of grudges, with which you can hold on tightly to hurts and slights. Take the helmet of entitlement and the bludgeon of the flesh, which is the word of anger. And air what’s been done to you on all occasions, with all kinds of criticisms and complaints.”

He didn't. What did Paul really say? "But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts." Romans 13:14 nkjv

Wear him so to speak. Yes, the Lord of all lords. Yes, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ. Put on the full armor of God by faith. The Bible says...

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm, then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”  Eph. 6:13-18

Paul didn’t say that he lived his life “by my faith” cuz even faith is a free gift of God. 

Job 29:14 - I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; justice was my robe and my turban.

Galatians 3:27 - For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Galatians 5:16 - So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Ephesians 4:24 - and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Colossians 3:10 - and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Colossians 3:12 - Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

1 Peter 2:11 - Beloved, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from the desires of the flesh, which war against your soul.

1 John 2:16 - For all that is in the world--the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not from the Father but from the world.

Galatians 3:27 - For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Ephesians 4:24 - And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Colossians 3:10-12 - And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him..

It's who we are and what we do. We can't put up with our friends being ripped off, or hurt, or killed without praying and wisely acting. 

So we're clothed in Him, but we're also going to fight from victory (Jesus already won the victory for us). Yes, we fight the good fight from.. more so than fight for victory. 

It's not the time for a détente or some spiritual-streaking. It's time for fully suiting up and biblical spiritual warfare. 

Dare ya to.. think battleground instead neutral-ground or playground!

Paul said, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood contending only with physical opponents, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places." Ephesians 6:12 amp

So today, put on the armor of God by faith -- walk in the Lord, in victory, in world-changing love daily. Wholeheartedly, not half, not a quarter so. Fish4souls.org

You help and stand with your soldiers, Lord. You restore every heart that's been crushed.. that’s been broken.

We know the armor of God is a metaphor in the Bible (Ephesians 6:10-18) and this reminds us Christians about the reality of spiritual battle and describes the protection available to us all. 

The full armor of God that Christians are called to put on comprises the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Gospel of Peace, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

As you pray, listen, and praise Jesus.. “Gird your waist with truth.” No time for duplicity a.k.a. hypocrisy, trying to lead a double-life. Remember how Billy Graham was year after year the same in public as he was in private. There were never two Billy Franks as they used to call this country preacher. Nope. Let it be that way for you too. Just one of you. 

Graciously speak what is true. It’s time for holy candor and Spirit empowered integrity. Put on your “utility belt of truth.” As Verse 14 says, “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth.” Officers refer to this belt as their “Sam Browne.” It consists of their radio, handcuffs, holster and gun, Taser, chemical spray, flashlight, holder for extra magazines, baton, etc.

My So Cal pastor Greg Laurie talks about this stuff a lot. It's helped us. He told us that the officer really needs his belt cuz when he is out and about working to keep the peace. The same was true for the Roman soldier.

The belt was essential. Why? Because the breastplate, and the sword’s sheath were attached to it. It also held up his tunic, giving him freedom of movement. If the Roman soldier’s belt came off, his breastplate would fall off, along with his tunic.

Believer, the day you believed in Jesus was the day that the real battle began. For just as surely as there is a God who loves you, there is also a devil who hates you.

It has been said, “Conversion has made our hearts a battlefield.”

So we have a choice in this spiritual battle. We will either win or lose. Gain or lose ground.

You can’t be a “spiritual-pacifist.” To fight a spiritual battle, you need spiritual armor. It’s time to “man up” (or “woman up”) and put on the whole armor of God.

It’s Your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise to You only. You save, heal, restore and fight for us and win, Lord. Thank you!  

Galatians 5:16,17,24 - This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh…

Colossians 3:5-8 - Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry...

“When you meet opposition to your faith, your first reaction may be anger toward your antagonist. This may divert your attention from the deeper, spiritual dimensions of your conflict. Your adversary may be hopelessly in bondage to sin. Rather than retaliating, you should immediately and earnestly intercede for that person. Giant prob? Got one..or more of em? You know you don't have to..long. Someone much bigger is there for ya and he can easily deal with them.

With God, nothing is impossible -- your giants can fall down on their faces before you.

Have you been crushed or hurt lately..stomped on by a big old foot? Do have a broken heart or dream, believer? 

Perhaps God allowing that to happen is really a blessing in disguise? It's just his way of letting you realize he saved you from the wrong one.. or from the wrong option. Don't get bitter, get better in the Lord.


How can we say that God has been silent when our Bibles have long-remained closed? Too dusty! God is not asking you to figure it all out. He's asking you to trust his Word, to claim his promises -- to trust that Jesus already has it figured out. He has a plan!

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

“Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe confidently in God and trust in Him, have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and believe also in Me.” ~ Jesus, John 14:1 amp

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4


Victory is O SO SWEET -- it's yours, you can taste it if you want. Enemy-giants ain't. Never are -- why go easy on em? Are you now engaged in spiritual warfare? Why not?  

This corrupt world system, your old fleshly nature tellin' ya what to do, fallen angels, tests, trails, temptations -- conquer em all. No drawing back, no pulling punches. David cut off the head of Goliath!   

Many times in life, you and I will face giants that seem more than impossible to conquer, but God promises in His Word that we already have the victory in Jesus Christ. To those of the world, “walking with Jesus by faith” doesn't seem to be a good option, but truth be told this is the best one and the only option that will really bring true victory. 

We all know what it's like to face a big challenge that seems impossible to conquer. Many times in the Bible we see that happen. Remember David who proactively went against Goliath? Remember Gideon who went up against the Midianites? Remember Moses who went up against Pharaoh -- and in each of these situations, the one God of the Bible.. conquered the enemies for those people who put their faith in Him. 

God does allow giants to show up from time to time. He can bring storms and challenges to us.. not because he doesn’t love us. Not because he wants us Christians to suffer for our sins, but so that we will grow mature. So we will grow in our knowledge, in our wisdom, in our obedience with blessings.. in our character and in our faith in Him.

“The days of just the occasional sipping on the fountain of faith no longer suffice. We must stand beneath the waterfall of God's goodness and become baptized with everything God has to give us—through his Scripture; through his saints; through worship; through tools.” ~ Max Lucado    

“To be alive is to be broken. And to be broken is to stand in need of grace.” ~ Brennan Stanning

Are you angry with God? Tell him. Disgusted with God? Let him know. Weary of telling people you feel fine when you don’t? Tell the truth--He can handle it. 

What kind of giant are you facing today? 

Seems like we're all facing our own share of giants these days, and yet we can gain wisdom and courage in the Bible. Go reread the story of David. Don't Give Up -- it’s really too early for that. I don't know how God is going to respond to your prayers, but I do know he is the God of new beginnings. The God of the second chance...even if it’s like your forth, fifth or sixth.. second chance.

Sometimes we have to just keep trying and at the right time there will be a breakthrough. Your giant will go down, they'll bite the dust and a new chapter of your life will begin.

First thought of the morning, last worry of the night—if you allow him to, your Goliath so to speak can dominate your day and infiltrates your joy.    


May we never forget ..on our best day, that we still need God’s Word as desperately as we did on our very worst day! 



Let’s win early and later on. The Bible says...

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:33-34


Mr. Lew-Cifer [creepy satan, he’s real but not at all our focus..] vies for the bedside position, hopping to be the first voice you hear. He covets your waking thoughts, those early, pillow-born impressions or emotions. He might awaken you with words of worry, of accusation, of fear, of temptation, of a timing-wasting plan perhaps, or of shame. He likes to stir you with thoughts of stress. If you dread the day before you begin your day, mark it down; your giant has been tryin’ to get in your head.


What does the Bible say that can help you overcome giants? What can we prayerfully memorize?

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

"The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1


“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

"If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you." Romans 8:11


"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." Romans 8:18


"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." 2 Corinthians 4:8-9


"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. “Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed,  for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Are you needing provision? Ask. “Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11


Never lose your living hope! It’s too early to despair. Just when you think it's all over God can easily send you a miracle. Easy. No problem at all.

“And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.” Psalm 39:7  


God understands all the cries of our hearts, even when way too deep for words. Not a problem! “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26


"I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:12-13 (Go look up some more)


I wonder.. did Goliath have four giant brothers who also like to fight? Why were five stones picked up? God knows why. 

When others run from the battle, will you run towards it? You indeed have a part to play, but primarily let the Lord fight your battles..let Him help you take down those giants. Let Him guide those stones. Doin' my best, I commit the rest! 



God is bigger, stronger, wiser ...and hasn't lost a battle yet. Not one. Not ever. 

The struggle is real, the pain is real, the enemy is real, but so is Jesus and His plan.

How can God can show us that He's in control if he doesn’t put us in situations that we can't control?


So many roads. So many detours. So many opposing the real Church. So many choices, but only one way. JESUS. You can turn from sin, can trust, can know Him today


Respond to Him, don’t put it off!     

When you feel like you're permanently goin’ down.. drowning in life, no worries, brothers and sisters. Your Lifeguard still walks on water. And he’s reaching out a hand to rescue.   


When it looks like it’s way too late and too much wrong-doin’ has been done. God says Come to me, let us reason together, I still have a plan.

When the giants, when the suffering, when the darkness keeps screaming out that God has ditched, has bailed, has abandoned you.. just listen to the calm, clear yet powerful voice of Jesus saying "I will never leave you!"

Never, no never, no not for one second.

Want harmony in and out of the home? Set the right time and pray with her, husbands. Yes, earnestly with and for your wives. They have needs that you can meet, and some that you can’t meet.

Touching, tender, and top priority. It’s an intimate thang. It’s blessed of God! It's about worshipping the Lord together--you two were created for Him. 
Yep, it’s about waiting on Him. It's about helping one another too. It's about hearing both God and her voice, guys. It’s about sincere vertical candor, trust, expectation, and selfless concern for each other. We pray so He can hear us and respond with power. Christians, our main aim isn't so people around us hear us. The weird Pharisees of old primarily prayed on street corners so that others would hear them out in public and feel impressed. 
This is SO needed for couples daily -- cuz when we’re together praying or apart praying for each other (like when away working in order to pay those bills), we both need the Lord who provides, helps and guides.. to come through and answer us. What do we hear from Him. Yes, No, or Wait is what we hear (He answers every prayer). And His timing is perfect, He knows best, and He delights to bless and take part as Lord in our relationships. 
Seems like I often learn more about my wife (Liney’s) needs, 'bout her longings and her dreams when she is casually praying with me, and I am thrilled to join in for her sake. I pray that she will continue to live happy, and blessed with all needs met. God can do it--the big stuff isn't too big for Him. She has some spiritual battles that she faces at her office at times, that I don’t face or fully understand, but Jesus does. We all have some battles, believers.  
Plan a time to discuss the “First Steps You’ll Take” with your wife in this.
Impact: God uses individuals and couples to make a positive impact in this world... if and when we are praying in faith. God calls us to be a good witness at home and in the world. No room for unbelief. A frequent routine of prayer together dramatically enhances marital relations by improving marital trust..along with spiritual and physical intimacy. Be active in a healthy Bible teaching Christian church with an on-fire (saved spiritual, instead of carnal, religious or worldly) pastor. And pray a short or longer prayer before you go, so you won’t have a fight along the way. Mr. Lu-Cifer (the devil) likes to divide couples and rob them of JOY etc. 

Typical Obstacles For Some: 

• INTIMIDATION: Many men want to always come off strong with no needs. They can feel awkward about initiating prayer with their wives because some perceive her to be more spiritually mature (and some wives are). But you don’t need to be a spiritual giant to lead in this area, husbands. You just need to initiate and point to the ultimate Solution for your marriage which is Christ. The couple that prays together can stay together and give witness of His love. Saved husbands are called to be the spiritual leaders in a marriage, and saved wives are to be the spiritual challenge in the relationship--equally valued and loved.  
• BACKGROUND: Some grew up in homes where honest prayer was silent or non-existent. God is not religious so none of us need to work beads or say religious form prayers--God through His Son Jesus Christ is our only focus when we pray. Praying out loud in front of others can feel uncomfortable to some. Men, start by holding her hand. Holding hands while praising and praying silently together..and then perhaps squeeze hands when you are done, or when it’s their turn. Do graduate on to “one sentence prayers” from the silent praying--it’s good to come into agreement with each other when praying. Still feel awkward, just take baby steps. 
• SCHEDULES: Jobs, kids, travel and other life realities will get in the way. Piggyback your prayer habit onto existing routines (e.g., bedtime, driving, etc.) at least twice per week rather than setting lofty but unattainable goals. 

No need to act all hyper-spiritual, churchy weird or even spooky. Keep it plain and simple -- just start like you talk in a casual friendship. Sure, you already know how to start a conversation with your friends--so it's important to keep it that simple. Perhaps discuss the following with your wife before launching a simple prayer routine together. 

1. How will we pray? (Choose a place to start. I like to write down some basic needs -- her’s first and some things to thank the Lord for.) 
❑ Silent prayer while holding hands 
❑ One sentence prayers about shared concerns 
❑ He prays while she silently agrees 
❑ She prays while he silently agrees 
❑ Take turns praying out loud 

2. What will we pray for/about? (Mention 2-3 in each category.) 
❑ Giving Thanks 
❑ Our Needs/Concerns 
❑ Our Kids/Grandkids 
❑ Our Dreams/Goals 
❑ Family/Friends/Acquaintances 

HUSBAND, THERE’S A TIME TO GENTLY EMBRACE HER AND PRAY OVER HER PLANS AND NEEDS. 

Doesn’t have to be long or complicated at all--sometimes when she’s hurting inside.. it can be longer of course. Not loudly praying for her. It can be whispered prayers to God for her--He loves you both most, so SO MUCH and wants to see her blessed more than you do. But nothing is more intimate for a couple than that. Praying for each other's needs. 

Be United, Harmonious, Joyful, and in Prayer--Be Of The Same Mind In The Lord. 

Turn all your concerns, fears and worries into prayers. 

The Bible says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.” Phil. 4:4-8

3. Guidelines for overcoming prayer obstacles: 
❑ Humility with faith: Act confident even if you don’t feel like it. Agree that you are just two of God’s cherished children seeking help rather than some spiritual giants hoping to inspire or impress one another. 
❑ Silence with hearing Him: Recall the Scriptures you’ve together read. When either of you doesn’t know what to say, agree to mention a topic of need and then pray silently. 
❑  Reminders: You want to stay together in love (so many don’t). You want mature spiritually--fully grow up into all that God wants you each to be. You want to be what the other needs you to be according to God’s wisdom and word. Either can “nudge” the other back on track whenever your prayer routine wanes. You can pray over the phone when away taking turns. No guilt or remorse.

America needs God more than God needs America. 

Is there spiritual compromise in your life today? Simply.. turn to Jesus

Lord, help us by giving us Your anointing to pray earnestly alone and together as a nation! 

Man, what's started out here in the USA as freedom of pure religion, is becoming freedom from pure religion.. I mean real relationship with God through Christ. Didn't we ditch dead religion and the trouble with it in old England?

The ultimate solution here is a biblical revival. Meaning here.. restored real to it's original authentic condition. It's time for it. Let it start with us. Why? Ginormous need.

Hey, don't stubbornly be a superior elitist know-it-all independent of the Lord. That won't help you or anyone. There's better choices for you. Dumb laws that go against the Scriptures have been made many times before by dumb men, but Christians must be wiser and obey God rather than men. Here are some more verses to study. Go check the Greek and Hebrew if you like, go check these verses in their own context--see what the rest of the Bible says on this stuff too.

Leviticus 18:22 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 nkjv - Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived.
