Say no to gettin' "hooked" in some foolish sorta way!

If you want to.. you can choose what to misuse, people. God made each of us with a free will to choose.

You are a free moral agent, and God will respect your choice even if it's not respectable. Why destroy you, or anyone else you hang with. God is there for you to meet all your needs even your greatest need. He really loves you and has a good plan! Don't do it. I mean gettin' slowly or fast.. all hooked by some negative-habit (you know, a destructive addiction).

Don't take the wrong hook. Get hooked by Christ instead. Listen to God's word. Grab that Bible daily. That's the wise way to get hooked.

Our US government says: For Americans age 18-45, the leading cause of death is fentanyl overdose. That one addictive drug is responsible for nearly 70% of the United States' 107,000+ drug overdose deaths in the past year and is 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine.

You know it could end in a variety of different ways, but what you cannot choose is how it will end. You might live longer or it might be very short as it so often happens, so why missuse what’s bad from the get-go? KnowGod.org

You and me, we each are smarter to “love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might” (a daily choice. Deuteronomy 6:5), which is, according to Jesus, the first and greatest commandment (Matthew 22:37-38). We can conclude, then, that an addiction to anything other than God Himself is wrong. Read more on this topic.

Here are some verses to memorize…

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

1 Peter 5:8

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

James 1:12

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

1 John 2:16

For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world.

1 Corinthians 6:12

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be enslaved by anything.

James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

1 Corinthians 15:33

Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

1 Peter 5:10

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

1 Peter 2:11

Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.

Proverbs 20:1

Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

John 8:36

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Matthew 6:13

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Romans 13:14

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Romans 5:3

More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance.

Galatians 5:16

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Proverbs 6:27

Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned?

Galatians 5:1

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Hebrews 4:15

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Galatians 5:24

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires

Uh.. you need H O P E today and I know where to find H O P E today.

I've not seen any years where hope needed to make a come back more than these years. Have you?

Ever sailed on the sea? Ever felt down? The height of the wave can determine the depth of the salty-trough or valley following it.

Factoid: There is a national blindness here today, and we are internally self-destructing because of our wickedness. Help is there for ya, freedom can be had, and hope can make a comeback. Many out there are feelin' desperate. They're lookin' for some relief during this season. How do you spell real relief? Like this.. Jesus.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suicide is now the second-leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 10 and 34. And since 2000, the suicide rate has nearly tripled for young teen girls. They've been hopeless and need a relationship with Christ!

You know that.. not to tactfully share the Gospel message with people can be a sin ..one of omission.

America’s youth are dealing with depression and anxiety like never before. Hey, I lived through the wild sixties and am sayin' this.

What is it that permeates their lives today? It is a nagging sense of hopelessness. People are afraid, are pessimistically-divided (with social media etc. they keep throwin' lots of fuel on already existing fires in our society). They are empty, are isolated "for safety's sake". They are lonely, are down, and are guilty today.

It's kinda hard to go on breathing without hope inside.

In 2019, nearly 50,000 people in the United States died from opioid-involved overdoses. The misuse of and addiction to opioids—including prescription pain relievers, heroin, and synthetic opioids such as fentanyl—is a serious national crisis that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the total "economic burden" of prescription opioid misuse alone in the United States is $78.5 billion a year. It's still a huge Western problem, but you can turn, trust and come to Christ the ultimate Solution.. or you can come back to God for his free forgiveness. Ask. Yep, right here and now.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon suffered from severe depression over and over again.. deep troughs due to his gout. He had travel away to the South of france on purpose, for health and yet the gout finally killed him.

There can be some spiritual reasons, mental reasons, and there can be chemical reasons for how down you feel. See a sound doctor and a spiritually healthy pastor too.

I can’t stand depression -- it is an enemy, not your friend. Never let it drive you away from God, but closer to God, and closer to a healthy local (Bible teaching) church with a sound pastor as well. Run to, not away from God.

Someone has described this phenomenon in nautical terms, "The height of the wave determines the depth of the valley that follows it". And the opposite is also true, sometimes the depth of the valley is a promise of the blessing to come. How many of you know life is lived in a rhythm? There's a rhythm about life. Let's get to understand that when it comes to what we're talking about today. You remember when the Lord Jesus was baptized and God broke heaven's silence and said, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased". And the next verse says, "And Satan took him to the wilderness and tempted him for forty days". After a major mountaintop experience, we need to be ready to face the valley. We were not created to live on the mountain all the time. We weren't created to live in the valley all the time. Life has rhythm to it. Can I get a witness? Everybody got that? The expectations.

Now, let's talk about the elimination of depression. Are you mourning a loss? Are you mourning some? It one day will be gone, believer. So many great people have suffered with the same thing that you suffer with. God's word--wisely apply it daily. There are some things you can do.

Life indeed has some dips and a rhythm to it, but here are 3 things you can do about it.

1.) God wants to reveal to, and relieve you of depression. All believers eventually will be. Based on the story of Job, I want to suggest that you reveal honestly your depression to the people that you trust. The thing about Job was this, he didn't hide his feelings. Listen to these words from Job 7:11, "Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul". Job said, "I'm not gonna keep this to myself. Here's what's going on in my life". Find somebody you trust and let it all out. Be honest about what you're feeling. You say, "Well, I'm", Get over it. Find somebody you trust and tell them what's going on in your life. Even in the doing of that, you will feel better.

2.) God want you to submit to God's word, to resist the enemy and your depression. Please do NOT.. not go get some help. Find good medical help. Depression is something to be concerned with, it’s something to fight. Please listen to me today. Depression is not anything to mess with. Don't let its foot in the door. Don't let anything happen that would cause it to get worse if there's something you can do to cause it to get better. Fight it. Don't coddle it, treat it as an enemy.

3.) God wants you to research some on your depression. I read this from a doctor by the name of Dan Phillips he said, "You should probably see a good doctor. I mean, I don't mean for happy pills. I do not mean for psychological treatment. I mean to eliminate the possibility of physical causes". And we've talked about that already. There might be something going on in your life that you don't know about. Before you do anything else, if you suffer from this, go see a doctor and get a physical. Tell him what's going on in your life and say, "I just want to make sure there's not anything systemic going on that's causing this to happen". There’s hope after hopelessness. there’s life after the despair in Christ. (Blog, btw: Thanks D. Jeremiah for those 3 to dos)

1. What does the Bible say about depression? How can a Christian overcome depression? How can a Christian get past it in our day? Is it wrong for a Christian to be depressed?
2. What does the Bible say about Bipolar Disorder. Used to Be called Manic Depression and mania?  How does the Bible say that we can overcome psychological problems?
3. Is it wrong for a Christian to be depressed? For a Christian, does depression demonstrate spiritual immaturity?
4. The Christian and Depression, it indeed happens with those in the world, but does it happen with believers too? It can, in this world you will have opposition, testings and trials. Who likes the trouble here? None. Shouldn't Christians be able to overcome depression, even clinical depression, through the power of the Holy Spirit?
5. What is theophostic counseling for those down, and is it biblical? Is theophostic counseling the same thing as repressed memory therapy?
6. How can I help someone who is really down and suicidal? I'm not a doctor, but help is available. How can I provide help to someone who is contemplating suicide?
7. Mental Illness — Learn about Mental Illness and People Feelin' Really Down.
8. Should a Christian take anti-depressants or other mental health medicines? What is the key to overcoming mental difficulties?
Where can I start to become part of the Solution rather than part of the problem? Go to God. Start with knowing your first-love well, intimately, obediently, closer than ever before... and then with making Jesus well-known. Respectfully, gently, tactfully. Start with your story of how you got right in the light as others around you are still just left there.. in the darkness. Tell it, what went through your mind that helped you decide to believe? Prayerfully explain it (John 3:3), proclaim it!

People can argue with you about what the Bible says all day long until the cows come home and argue with you about other things too, but they can’t argue with your story of how Christ transformed you (it's called a personal testimony). They can’t argue with what God has done for you. Your story can segway into the simple Gospel message for a friend.. you know with a hook.

In Revelation 12 there’s an interesting verse that says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” Revelation 12:11 nkjv.

This describes Christians who are in Heaven and have overcome the powers of evil. Overcome? How did they do it? One of the keys is “by the word of their testimony.”

The Bible is the Book of hope -- it points to our Living Hope. We each need God and his grace to be consistently bold and wisely gracious.

If you want to win some, think, live and communicate winsome. Yeah, do this like Jesus did with agape love for others and unchanging truth.

Sadly for many believers the Great Commission has become.. or still remains the great omission, but it doesn't have to remain that way for us! We are called to prioritize worship of the Lord ahead of everything..yes EVERYTHING. And we're called to go share his Gospel with people willing to hear, and to make disciples too as his Spirit leads us (yes, in this order).

Do people know you’re a reborn Christian? Does your family know you’re one? Do people in your school or workplace know you are one? Do people in your neighborhood know you’re a Christian?

People watch and read you. The moment you own it in your heart and verbally.. because Jesus owns you something will change for the good. The moment you take that stand and say you’re a follower of Christ, people will be watching you (and some will secretly be hoping you’ll mess up cuz they think this will relieve their own conscience). Yet right now you may be the only Gospel some people will ever read. Fish4souls.org .. Photos by Luis Galvez, Ian Dooley, Davidson Luna. Thanks.

Prescription or nonprescription drug addiction is a disease! It is isn't it? Naww...nope. Never has been. And sup with alcoholism?

Well Kurt, alcoholism is for sure! Naw. If alcoholism is a disease.. it’s the only one that can be bottled and sold. If it is a disease, it’s one of the only ones (like illicit drug use) that induces different crimes. Ask some cops where so SO many crimes happen?

Me thinks so profoundly : ) if ya never take a drink, you’ll never sin by gettin’ drunk.Duh! My parents were alcoholics, but have overcome it. I am grateful and love em. They are still together today.

Every noticed that no drinker thinks they'll get hocked on it. Alcoholism, not a lasting fun life at all.  Ya can't get hooked if ya don't grab a drink or hang tight with those into it. I spend limited time with the lost and carnal Christians cuz I want to live as a witness and share the word if they are open to this. Who are your closes friends?

Personally, I’ve never seen one positive thing come from drinking. My favorite US President never drank and accomplished far more than the other ones.

When I lived in Bavaria for some five years I enjoyed alcohol free Löwenbräu or when out for dinner with Liney some Chateau De Fleur Non-alcoholic Sparkling Wine from time to time. Wasn’t a stumbling block for any.

Wherever I wander following Jesus, really wanna avoid all appears of evil when a watching world gives a flip about how I walk.

Alcoholism just plain doesn't seem or act like a disease does it? While attending Dana Hills High in So Cal, (not at the school but) I used to drink too much and often with my surfer buds. It’s fun for a season but it really wasn’t good for us.

I never want to take my own personal convictions and try to put those on others people. If Christians sit in a hotel lobby bar or have a drink, I never judge them. Where in the Bible does it say, Thou shalt not drink period. It doesn’t. Grace let’s people be what they choose to be and do. Be gracious, not controlling. You and I aren’t better than any, believer. Just better off.

“Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.“ Romans 14:4

“Wine produces mockers; alcohol leads to brawls. Those led astray by drink cannot be wise.“ Proverbs 20:1

Why did Noah curse his inconsiderate son, Ham aka Canaan?

Is being drunk in the Spirit a biblical experience?

He rescued his fam. Builder, husband, dad, man of God..after such a big victory.. why did Noah get drunk after the flood?

Is getting drunk a sin? What does God say about that?

Why did Lot offer up his daughters to be gang raped? Why did God allow Lot’s daughters to later have sex with their father?

How should a Christian view alcoholics? What does the Bible say about drunkards?

Rather than get drunk, be filled with the Comforter -- the Holy Spirit. What is Christian spirituality in the Spirit?

Will people get drunk in the last days? Uhh..yep. What will be the end times, one-world religion?

Should wine or grape juice be used for communion?

Alcohol Use And Alcoholism -- Man, Please Walk Free. Want The Best For You And Your Loved Ones. Full Liberty Is A Choice, And There's A Way For You Today.

Today, you know how the abuse of drink so often goes hand in hand with drug abuse (prescription and nonprescription). And so many have sadly died during this last decade from such addiction.

Wasn’t always like that with both. Back in the day it seems like alcohol abusers were alcohol abusers and drug abusers were drug abusers but now so many have coalesced together into chemical-addicts (Nothing derogatory or offensive meant by any term used, but you know lots of other terms we're used. I'm not sure why it was that way).

Many users are using any or everything to gain comfort and escape the troubles, pains, and heartaches of life.

man and woman drinking tin cans

Remember watching Cops? I still watch and learn even though the show is no longer vogue. Most of the people that were stopped by Cops had no respect for delegated authority (namely, they hated and totally distrusted Cops). Most of those stopped by the Police had a problem with drinking or drugs (..or with say the stealing, buzzed violence, or illicit sex just to support their destructive habit).

Very sad to see. I've been pulled over too. Actually I was guilty and parked on the cliff overlooking the Dana Point harbor in the '70s. Had to go to some classes too.

Drinking or drug problems and trying to hide it all -- you always saw this on Cops. How very costly it can get! It was like that at the start of the show in '89 and all through the 30 year run until they discontinued Cops (Today, there's no police shows aired -- you know how liberal mayors, lame politicians, and city leaders want to defund police. That's another topic, don't get me started on that).

“The first thing in the human personality that dissolves in alcohol is dignity.” ~ Author Unknown

“When the wine goes in, strange things come out.” ~ Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller

“First you take a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes you.”  ~ Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald

"When the wine is in, the wit is out." ~ Anon.

“Drunkenness is nothing but voluntary madness.” ~Seneca

“If drinking is interfering with your work, you're probably a heavy drinker. If work is interfering with your drinking, you're probably an alcoholic.” ~ Anon.

I personally don't look down on those who choose to drink. It's not for me to judge or try to give them my own personal convictions -- some really don't have a problem. God gave me personal convictions for me alone. I never liked the taste (some say they acquired a taste they need to un-acquire).

I've personally found that there is nothing good that these habits, pastime activities will give to people, but being filled with the Comforter (the Holy Spirit) that's a different story. This solace will give what's good and restorative.. along with the truth of the word.

Always felt like, I can always find (non-alcoholic) drinks that taste far better, and are healthy too. What's the need for other?

Something to consider, that I have mused on: Even though all those super-expensive booze commercials look cool and happy, you can never ever sin with drink.. or become a drunk or a drug addict.. if you never pick it up, buy it, drink it, or use. It's that first drag on that joint or other smoke. It's that first can or glass. I say, be a tea-toddler or with coffee perhaps. Far better for you.

You know habitual use of alcohol often results in addiction. Duh, it can get ahold of anyone! The drinker's inadequacies, faults, and problems become intensified, and often personality changes result.

Though feeling more confident, brave, acceptable and feeling less fearful of rejection and less awkward socially.. when under the influence of alcohol, he or she is often immature, insecure, and feeling guilty with depression.

People want comfort from the pains of life on this sin-cursed planet. They switch from one idol to another, seeking to fill up that empty void inside their hearts that only Jesus can fill and satisfy spiritually.

The alcoholic does not feel good about himself or herself. They somehow can't face the addiction and the subsequent problems it creates for them.. so he or she in an ongoing way often denies their problem. They are often dishonest in covering it up over and over again. Yes, they so often become very deceitful in blaming it all on family members, on buddies or so called friends (fair-weather-friends), on their parents, on coworkers, on work supervisors (managers, bosses etc), or even on the bad breaks of life. And who hasn’t experienced some bad breaks in this life?

Sadly, some people experience more or far more “bad breaks of life.” Even bad breaks they didn’t bring on themselves via personal bad decisions. Mean people act mean -- sinners sin cuz they are sinners. They’re not sinners per se because they sin (sure, they are a criminal once they’ve committed a crime according to police), but they were born in sin. We all were says God in the Bible.. which is completely true.

We all need forgiveness, regeneration, and a new nature from God inside (John 3:3) and sanctification.

Companies are not loyal to the workers today. Many politicians, social workers, physiologists and so called pastors aren’t either, but Christ is loyal. He’ll never ditch, bail out, leave you.. nor forsake you, believer.

This deviousness and denial of abuse leads to a masquerade in life that at times can assume almost a comic-level. I never look down on, or talk down to those struggling -- it’s actually very tragic, the overtones and all. Never want to, cuz Jesus never did. You have great value, your life matters.

Alcoholics desperately need help at the root of the problem. Alcoholics Anonymous maintains that until alcoholic hits rock bottom, admitting that their life is out of control, there is little hope of any change at all.

Admitting that there is a problem is the first step on the road to recovery. Isn’t it like that for all types of sin and addiction? Many people, even religious leaders say “I’m not a sinner or bad person.” I do good works, am a good person and can make it on my own. Some foolishly blame their bad behavior on their circumstances or environment.

Listen, there is hope for the alcoholic in the word of God. Christ loves you. God loves us all so much, he has a good plan and is able to completely deliver people from this as well as any other addiction. (Personally, I love to hangout with, talk with, and hear my friends at AA (they call me a "Normie" though I too used to drink like a goldfish). My parents and grandparents have been apart and serving at AA since the founders started it in California. I FEEL A TON OF RESPECT FOR ALL OF THEM. They knew many of those key people at the start and I got to hear and benefit. Yes, over the decades, I've been blessed to hear so many wise principles and prayers from the heart.

Hey, come to.. or come back to Christ today. Nothing is more imperative than that (no life decision is)! Some have said a prayer in a church etc.. and after a time relapsed or backslide away. God understands -- he still loves you and has a good plan. Ain't done with ya!

Hey, need a new beginning? Important: Please humbly choose Jesus Christ as your “Higher Power” to walk with, and stay free cuz he is the Son of God -- the Highest Power of all. The God of the Bible is the only one -- the only real God. If the Son sets you free, you're free indeed.)

I say and know I'm right on this.. You were created to know God in a personal way—to have a meaningful relationship with the one God of the Bible, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

"The Bible teaches that there is deliverance from the things that come upon the world.. not by chemicals, but by Christ, bringing the mind and heart into harmony with God through submission to His will (that totally agrees with His written word) and accepting His forgiveness. ..In Christ alone there is deliverance from man's tortured thoughts and freedom from the sordid habits which are destroying so many people. Why does the Bible so clearly denounce drunkenness? Because it is an enemy of human life. Anything that is against a person’s welfare, God is against.” ~ Billy Graham

Their banquets are accompanied by lyre and harp, by tambourine and flute, and by wine; but they do not pay attention to the deeds of the LORD, nor do they consider the work of His hands” (Isaiah 5:11 nkjv).

“Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine and valiant men in mixing strong drink, who justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the rights of the ones who are in the right!” (Isaiah 55:2 nkjv).

Of John the Baptizer, a great man, the Holy Spirit says...

“He will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb” (Luke 1:15 nkjv).

“Guide your heart in the way. Do not mix with winebibbers, or with gluttonous eaters of meat; for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty” (Prov. 23:20-21 nkjv).

“For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries” (1 Peter 4:3 nkjv).

“Those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:7-9 nkjv).

Want to firsthand know God's positive alternative for the world's version, the world's short lived chemical and other types of comfort:

“Understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:17-18 nkjv).

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are..idolatry..drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:19-21 nkjv. When you get the time, please prayerfully re-read these verses in their own context).

“Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts” (Romans 13:13-14 nkjv).

“I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person” (1 Corinthians 5:11 nkjv).

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:1-2 nkjv).

“For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: ‘As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.’ So then each of us shall give account of himself to God” (Romans 14:11-12 nkjv).

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place” (2 Corinthians 2:14 nkjv). Fish4souls.org .. Facebook.com/shareJesus

You will be filled with shame instead of glory.” (Habakkuk 2:14-16)

The Bible says "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." So true, I regularly did.

I used to drink like a goldfish mainly at highschool beach parties in the Dana Point area of California. That's where I grew up surfing, drinking and while drinking a lot my surfer peers turned me on to some weed. And I started with that. I wanted some comfort, an escape -- life sober seemed tough. I tried to clean my life up on my own and couldn't do it. I guess I was hooked.

Things were getting worse. Sure, police were stopping me on the road. I didn't like that I had become and was becoming. Being raised in a traditional dead religious church wasn't helping me at all. God's not religious, never has been.

A few surfer friends witnessed to me on the beach.. told me of Christ's love, power to save and ability to deliver people in bondage like me. I got invited to a Bible study up in the Newport Beach area and there chose to repent and believe in Jesus. I gave my life over to him and this Fisherman so to speak, caught me, accepted me, loved me, and he cleaned this fish up if ya will. He still is sanctifying me. Got a lot to learn, but am happier and healthier. Washed clean by him, not by me. Best decision of my life! Finding a healthy local Christian church was great too, cuz I found friends I could relate to and have fellowship with.

We can't help but become like those we spend a lot of time with. Bad company corrupts good morals, but godly friends encourage a lot.. to in obedience to the word of God.

It's like the devil and his buds will bait one more serious trap with a pleasurable yet destructive habit that you or I already enjoy.
But God is so perfect and holy, and our sins literally separate us from connection with Him ...even forever if we let that happen. The Bible says "The wages of sin is death."
But the Good News of real love (the Gospel) for you is from about 2,000 years ago. Remember how Jesus didn't feel like it, but went up on a lonely Cross at Calvary for you, for me. He let sinners kill him there in our place and then on the third day rose again from the dead. And now we each can respond to the Gospel and be born again. Forgiven, no charge.
