There are some things still worth fighting for. Fam.

I'd Say The Family Is Worth Fighting For.

You know that's right, huh.

"You do not pray? Will you refuse the privilege which angels envy?" ~ Charles H. Spurgeon

"PRAY WITHOUT CEASING" -- that's as simple as breathing out. Exhale (Thanks, praise, worship, intercession, requests). Who doesn't do that? The dead don't. See 1 THESSALONIANS 5:17

Receiving powerful grace is as simple as breathing in. Inhale (unction to function, comfort, healing, grace, mercy, restoration, strength.. Yes, empowering to be and give clear verbal witness for Jesus. Fresh anointing for guidance etc.)

MAKE PRAYER AN ONGOING LIFESTYLE. Prayer is not an event; it is a continual conversation with God.

PRAY IN EVERY SITUATION give thanks, give supplications upward, give a flip about what matters most.

In joy or in trouble, bring it to God. He is always listening and always DEEPLY cares.

KEEP YOUR HEART CONNECTED TO GOD ALL DAY LONG.

Short and to the point specific prayers, silent prayers, and Scripture prayers keep your heart aligned with His heart.

PRAYER.. IS SUCH A PRIVILEGE, AND GOD CHANGES THINGS.

Prayer is the avenue whereby God meets our needs. It (He) changes us, it (He) changes circumstances. Yes, when your will is God's will then you will have your will. Praying in faith moves the hand of God For good and never for bad.

DON'T GIVE UP ON JESUS CUZ HE WON'T GIVE UP ON YOU. HASN'T, WON'T. NEVER HAS, NEVER WILL. HE LOVES TO HEAR YOU REACH OUT TO HIM AND DELIGHTS TO MEET ALL YOUR NEEDS, BELIEVER.

Keep praying AS THE SPIRIT LEADS YOU ..until you see His answer arrive. Persistence honors God and releases His power.

Once prayer becomes a habit of life, take it up a notch and pray earnestly cuz your family and friends really matter to you!

The world around us is so desperate but so many people in churches are not desperate. Many have forgot what that's like. See Matthew 7:8-9

Ask,

Seek,

Knock.. this means.. ASK OF GOD..

...boldly! This is not at all about overcoming God's reluctance to respond, but it's simply laying hold of His highest willingness to intervene -- to bless you and your friends.

"Be sober, be vigilant.." 1 Peter 5:8 KnowGod.org

"For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly." Psalm 8411

You won't pray everywhere until you start to pray somewhere. Here and now, today is good. Candidly express, listen, obey the Lord. It's a choice.

"Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]." James 5:16 amp

"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?" Matthew 7: 8-9

"Be still before the Lord; wait patiently for Him and entrust yourself to Him; do not fret (whine, agonize) because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who carries out wicked schemes." Psalm 37:7 amp

When we pray, we access God's good and unchanging promises. Those were put in the Bible for you, your family, and others you care about

God deeply loves the family because He designed it. He wasn't confused when he did that. He that is most wholesome thought it up. Before He established governments, schools, or nations, He established the family, and He cares about your home (see Genesis 2:18-25).

Go read that book again. God created a man and from his rib He created a woman.. and then came the children.

The family is God's first classroom, first mission field, and first place where faith is to be lived and passed from one generation to the next (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Psalm 78:4-7).

What did Jesus leave behind when he ascended? The church and families. Your family is still important to Him.

What do wayward worldly people today think is worth quickly ditching? God, churches and families.

Because the family is so precious to God, it is a primary target of Satan. The enemy really knows that strong, Christ-centered homes produce strong churches, strong communities, and future generations who know and love the Lord.

Weak homes, however, often leave behind wounded hearts, brokenness, and spiritual casualties.

So the family is worth fighting for. Not with clenched fists, but with folded hands. Not through pride, but through humble repentance. Not by human strength, but by the grace and power of Jesus Christ.

"History belongs to the believing intercessors."

"Ultimately history belongs to God cuz He's totally sovereign. It's His tory and includes you with your family. He invented time, though He lives outside of time. He sees. He's here. Not far away." @KurtwVs

"The family is the nursery of the church." — Charles H. Spurgeon

What Are Six Ways Satan Seeks to Destroy the Family?

A. He Weakens the Father's Godly Leadership in the Home

Have you given up on praying for your wife and kids, dads? Satan loves a leadership vacuum. When a husband neglects his God-given responsibility to lovingly hear, lead, protect, and serve his family, everyone feels the loss. Biblical leadership is never harsh or self-centered. It is Christlike, sacrificial, humble, and filled with understanding (Ephesians 5:25-29; Colossians 3:19; 1 Peter 3:7).

A father who walks closely with Christ becomes a blessing to his wife and children. His greatest sermon is not preached from a platform but lived around the dinner table.

A man's greatest legacy is not what he leaves to his family per se, but what he leaves invested into his family.

B. He Attacks the Marriage Covenant

The enemy knows that if he can fracture the marriage, he can wound the entire household. Small offenses become deep bitterness. Selfishness replaces servant-hearted love. Unforgiveness hardens the heart. Harsh words slowly tear down what years of love have built.

Yet God's grace is stronger than resentment. Where there is genuine repentance, forgiveness, humility, and daily dependence upon Christ, marriages can flourish again.

"Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." (Mark 10:9)

"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32)

Isn't it interesting how Mr. Lucifer does his best to try to get young couples together physically (sexually in fornication sin) too early before marriage and then works opposite of that to get them apart physically (in distracted neglect or adultery sin).

C. He Replaces God's Truth with the World's Fake News Lies

Every home is being discipled by something or someone when you think about it.

"The one who despises the word will be in debt to it, but the one who fears the commandment will be rewarded." Prov. 13:13

If God's Word is neglected, the culture will gladly fill the vacuum. Television, social media, entertainment, celebrities, and popular opinion become substitute teachers. Soon the family's thinking begins to reflect the world instead of Christ.

God calls us to build our homes upon His unchanging truth -- build on the Rock, not on the shifting sand so to speak.

"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." (John 17:17)

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..." (Romans 12:2)

D. He Keeps Families Too Busy for God

Not every distraction is sinful, but many distractions become spiritually dangerous.

Families can become so busy making a living that they forget how to live. Calendars become full while hearts become empty. Sports, entertainment, careers, hobbies, endless screens, and constant activity quietly replace family worship, prayer, meaningful conversations, church fellowship, and time in God's Word.

The greatest things are often crowded out by merely good things.

Like Mary, every family must choose "the good portion" that cannot be taken away (Luke 10:38-42).

E. He Normalizes Sin

Sin rarely arrives looking dangerous.

It usually enters dressed as entertainment, convenience, tolerance, or harmless fun. What once troubled the conscience gradually becomes accepted. What was once resisted is eventually defended.

The eyes, ears, and mind shape the heart.

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." (Proverbs 4:23)

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." (Matthew 5:8)

F. He Divides What God Calls to Be United

One careless sentence. One unresolved hurt. One proud heart. One unwillingness to forgive.

That is often all Satan needs to widen a crack into a canyon.

But the gospel always moves people toward reconciliation. Humility heals. Grace restores. Forgiveness rebuilds bridges that anger burned down.

"Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." (Ephesians 4:3)

"A soft answer turns away wrath.." (Proverbs 15:1)

Our Greatest Defense Is The Lord

Call upon him while you can. Satan is also powerful, but he is not near as powerful or sovereign like Jesus. Christ has already conquered him through His death on the cross and physical resurrection.

A family that regularly prays together, studies God's Word together, worships together, serves together, and quickly forgives one another becomes increasingly different than most families.. it's difficult for the enemy to divide them.

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8)

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)

"As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15)

Do you have a family of two? Just you and your wife.. make it a family of three with Jesus as Lord. That's big enough.

A bundle of sticks tied together is difficult to break. Separate the sticks one by one, and each snaps with little effort. Satan's strategy has always been division. God's strategy has always been unity centered in Christ.

Here's A Challenge For You

The strongest homes are not perfect homes. A flawed man with a flawed woman, and often times flawed children come along. They are homes where Jesus is welcomed every day as Lord.. by each one prayerfully. Won by One.

Fight for your marriage.

Fight for your children.

Fight for family worship.

Fight for purity.

Fight for unity.

Fight on your knees, and stop fighting God or fighting your spouse.. even with attitude or words.

The family is worth fighting for because it belongs to God. Fallen angels hate the familirs knowing God created families.

"The Christian family ought to be a little church." — Jonathan Edwards

"The home is the chief school of human virtues." — William Ellery Channing

May every Christian home be able to say with joyful conviction:

"As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15)

AGAIN, BE AWARE OF 6 WAYS SATAN DESTROYS FAMILIES

1 He weakens the father's leadership--on earth, one discouraged dad is too many. When a father abdicates his God-given role to lead with understanding, the whole family suffers.

2 He attacks the marriage. By urgest he tries to get you together physically too early (pre-wedd-alter), and then once married he does his best to get you appart physically. We all must work wisely. Bitterness, selfishness, unforgiveness, and constant conflict erode the foundation of the home.

3 He replaces God's truth with the world's lies. All the major news platforms now and movie and TV show makers traffic is fake news. A family that neglects Scripture will soon adopt the culture's values.

4 He keeps the family too busy for God and for each other. Yes, way too busy for devotions in the word and in simple prayer together. Too busy for regular church involvement, too busy for edifying Christian fellowship, for each parents and friends. Crowded schedules often crowd out acceptable worship of the Lord, fellowship, and meaningful time together.

5 He normalizes sin in too many distracted minds. On what they see and hear. What once grieved the inner conscience eventually becomes accepted and defended.

6 He divides families and churches instead of uniting us.. sure, if we allow him to. Misunderstandings, pride, harsh words, and unresolved offenses become tools to separate hearts. Choose to pray for unity with Christ as your main focus, today!

"Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes!" Psalm 133:1-2 esv

Need 10 basic family rules that help keep the peace in the home?

It doesn't just fall into place by itself.

A peaceful home does not just happen by accident. It's not as easy as rolling off the bed in the morning. It is built one conversation, one choice, one act of forgiveness, and one day of faithful obedience at a time. Pray for everyone in your family and take some time to read the Bible.

Every family has some unwritten or written rules. Yes, they do whether spoken or unspoken. The wisest families establish their homes upon the unchanging truth of God's Word. Think of the principles of the word when setting rules.

I never made my kids read or memorize the Bible during family devotional time. Did I encourage this if they wanted to? Yep.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (said Joshua 24:15 but he made no one believe).

Today, when Christ is known and honored in a home, love grows, respect flourishes, and peace has elbow room to live with joy.

1. Speak words that agree with the word.. that comfort, challenge, admonish, edify, and heal instead of words that hurt.

Even when emotions run high, choose gentleness over harshness. Kind words calm a troubled heart, while careless words can leave wounds that last for years.

"Let your speech always be with grace" (Colossians 4:6).

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1).

"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up" (Ephesians 4:29).

"Kindness is love in work clothes." — Anonymous

2. Celebrate the Lord and one another instead of competing with one another.

A loving family rejoices when one member succeeds. Jealousy divides, but genuine love delights in another person's blessings.

"Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep" (Romans 12:15).

"Love does not envy" (1 Corinthians 13:4).

Every single victory in the family belongs to the whole family.

3. Raise the quality of the conversation, and not the volume. No yelling, and please don't rely upon time-outs only. Too many do.

People rarely change because someone shouted louder. Wisdom speaks with self-control.

"The tongue of the wise brings healing" (Proverbs 12:18).

"A soft tongue can break a bone" (Proverbs 25:15).

"Everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger" (James 1:19-20).

As the saying goes:

"Raise your words, not your voice. Rain grows flowers, not thunder."

4. Honor your elders and one another with thoughtfulness and consideration.

Love respects boundaries, values one another's belongings, keeps confidence when appropriate, and seeks the good of others above selfish desires.

"Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Give preference to one another in honor" (Romans 12:10).

"Do nothing from selfish ambition... but regard others as more important than yourselves" (Philippians 2:3-4).

Respect is love made visible.

5. Make "Please," "Thank you," and "I was wrong" common expressions.

Humility keeps relationships alive. Apologies are only sincere when they are followed by changed behavior.

"Clothe yourselves with humility" (1 Peter 5:5).

Tell on yourself to God cuz He saw it all anyways. "Confess your sins to one another" (James 5:16).

"Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy" (Proverbs 28:13).

True repentance is more than saying the right words. It is walking a new direction.

6. Put distractions away and give one another your full attention. Love here is spelled T-I-M-E.

Shared meals have always been places of fellowship, conversation, thanksgiving, and spiritual encouragement. Today's greatest interruption often fits inside a pocket.

"So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).

"Look carefully then how you walk... making the best use of the time" (Ephesians 5:15-16).

People matter more than screens.

7. Listen completely to understand not to answer.. yes, before you respond.

Listening well communicates love. Being late or interrupting often communicates pride. Seek first to understand before trying to be understood.

"Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak" (James 1:19).

"He who answers before listening—that is his folly and his shame" (Proverbs 18:13).

Listening is one of the purest expressions of love.

8. Serve one another without keeping score.

Love notices a need and quietly meets it. Strong families are filled with servants, not spectators.

"Through love serve one another" (Galatians 5:13).

"In humility count others more significant than yourselves" (Philippians 2:3-4).

Even Jesus "did not come to be served, but to serve" (Mark 10:45).

9. Keep your word every time. God does that too.

Trust grows slowly but can disappear quickly. Faithfulness in small promises prepares us for greater responsibilities.

"Let your 'Yes' be yes and your 'No,' no" (Matthew 5:37).

"It is required of stewards that they be found faithful" (1 Corinthians 4:2).

Never promise more than you intend to keep.

10. Build your home upon truth, forgiveness, and prayer.

Every family experiences tensions or disagreements. Healthy families do not pretend problems never happened. They confront them honestly, forgive one another freely, pray together, and pursue peace.

Many of today's dad who really didn't like their own fair dads have trouble being dads. Some say this isn't way they got into this. The delegated authority and all, uncomfortable, cuz that's what they wanted to avoid.

Have there been a lot of really bad dads? There have been and I will talk about that on a later date.

Why did Jesus refer to the temple as “my Father's house” (John 2:16)?

Do you want to live a long life?

I am a parent; how can I let go of my adult children?

What does it even mean that he who spares the rod hates his son?

What does the Bible say about being a good parent?

There's gotta be a way, so how should Christians discipline their children? Good question.

Well, it means that ya gotta do something smart, Parent. If a parent refuses to wisely discipline an unruly child, that child will grow accustomed to getting his own way and develop an ugly air of entitlement. The fleshly nature and sin nature don't just opt to fly out the door

What does it mean to obey your parents in the Lord (Ephesians 6:1)?

What does the Bible say about obeying parents?

Is gentle parenting compatible with the Bible?

Really now, I can actually spoil the child (Proverbs 13

What does the Bible say about stepparenting?

What does Proverbs tell us about a child left to himself (Proverbs 29)?

"Speaking the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15).

"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32).

"If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all" (Romans 12:18).

"Can two walk together unless they are agreed?" (Amos 3:3).

A family that kneels together before God is better equipped to stand together before the world.

How Did It Happen Back In The Day.. Establishing God-Honoring Order In The Home?

  • Noah — led as an example most of the time, and led his household in obedient faith despite living in a corrupt generation (Genesis 6:22; 7:1).

  • Abraham — commanded his children and household to keep the way of the Lord (Genesis 18:19).

  • Joshua — declared, "As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15).

  • Job — regularly prayed and offered up sacrifices for his children (Job 1:5).

  • Lois and Eunice — faithfully taught Timothy the Scriptures from childhood. There are a lot of practical behaviors (2 Timothy 1:5; 3:14-15).

  • Priscilla and Aquila — opened their home for ministry and instructed others together (Acts 18:24-26; Romans 16:3-5).

  • Cornelius — implemented the fear of God with all his household (Acts 10:2).

  • Lydia — led her household in faith and ordered hospitality (Acts 16:14-15).

"The family altar is the strength of the Christian home." — Charles Spurgeon

"No other success can compensate for failure in the home." — David O. McKay

"The home is the chief school of human virtues." — William Ellery Channing

"The most important work you will ever do will be within the walls of your own home." — Attributed to Harold B. Lee

Decent Homes Take Prayer, Time, Presence, And Some Work.

Strong homes are not made of perfect people. They are built by forgiven people who keep returning to the grace of God. Every peaceful home is filled with ordinary people who have learned to tell the truth, forgive quickly, serve joyfully, pray faithfully, and love one another because Christ first loved them.

"Respect each other's privacy" is sure wise, but remember that the Bible emphasizes love, honesty, accountability, and consideration more than an individual's right to privacy always.

Man, I remember my list in Europe when Liney and I gathered with a bunch of teenagers. #90s

TEEN'S TOP TEN

“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others” (Phil 2:4).

1. No sprinting and diving onto furniture -- no trampoline-ing on the furniture. When you take your place upon a couch or chair, don’t leap or plop down and break it.

2. No skateboard ollies off of (ya know, gettin' big air off), or lounging upon the ping pong and other tables.

3. No weird video games allowed on big screens (or anywhere. Use games that are clean and approved, but only with the smaller TVs).

4. No wrestling, seductive skimpy clothing, karate kicks, profanity, cigs, chew, alcohol, guns, weapons, drugs (or the selling of the like) and no dancing around gettin' in the flesh to draw attention to self. No throwing of food or hard items that make holes in your friends, the walls or the windows. No lame tigerbeat (type of) teen mags or porn. Duh! No secular music CDs, no inordinate PDA, no disrespect toward any adults starting with your parents, even if they act like dweebs. Obey God's Top Ten List, and other delegated leaders short of sin, show respect, be kind and watch your heart attitude, Buckeroo.

5. No one is allowed in the kitchen when someone is teaching (except leaders and those they designate). You can go out but during teachings, stay out until the end to avoid the in and out distracting traffic.

6. Don’t get rough with the sisters (young or older).

7. Come prayed-up, attentive, ready to listen to God's List, the rest of the Word, and to serve.

8. No howling out in the hallways (God is trying to minister to your parents over in that auditorium).

9. No fun or breathing allowed--fold your hands and act all pious (this one’s just a joke).

10. If you chow down, you clean up. Yes, if you bring food into the room, don’t leave your trash laying around and please get the food unstuck and out of the carpeting. Take these ideas home with you, okay.

Yeah, for our straight boys, I had ten basic rules at home as well. It started out like: No drugs, no porn, no alcohol, no cigarettes, no cussing, no fights, no strangers or persons of the opposite sex in the house when your parents are not home. I think I'll go look for em.

Cuz who doesn't want a Christ-centered family and home? I know you do, right? KnowGod.org

"Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you." (Exod. 20:12)

Honor Begins at Home

The Ten Commandments reveal God's priorities. The first four commandments teach us how to love, worship, and honor God. The remaining six show us how to love our neighbors. Yet before God speaks about murder, adultery, theft, lying, and coveting, He places one command at the very center of human relationships:

"Honor your father and your mother" (Exodus 20:12).

That is no accident.

Before God addresses society, He addresses the home. Before He speaks about our responsibilities toward strangers, He reminds us of our responsibilities toward those sitting around our own dinner table. The family is God's first human institution, established long before governments, schools, or nations. It was His design from the beginning (Genesis 2:18-24).

Nothing on earth can bring greater joy than a Christ-centered family. Likewise, few earthly experiences bring deeper sorrow than family conflict. Husbands and wives sometimes wound one another. Parents grieve over children, and children struggle with parents. Brothers and sisters disappoint one another. Every family has seasons of misunderstanding, failure, and pain because every family is made up of sinners who need God's grace.

Yet God's design has never changed.

The family is not a human invention to be revised with every generation. It is God's good gift to humanity. Healthy homes become the building blocks of healthy churches, healthy communities, and healthy nations. Strong nations do not create strong families. Rather, strong families help produce strong nations.

"Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1).

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6).

"As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15).

This helps explain why the family has always been a primary target of Satan's attacks. From the opening chapters of Genesis until today, the enemy has sought to distort God's design for marriage, weaken parental influence, divide generations, and discourage faithful fathers and mothers. Whenever God's design is rejected, the consequences eventually reach every part of society.

None of this should surprise us. Sin always damages what God created to bless.

Even so, the fifth commandment is not merely directed toward children. It speaks to every member of the family.

It calls children to honor their parents with respect and obedience (Ephesians 6:1-3).

It calls fathers not to provoke their children to anger but to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).

It calls husbands to love their wives sacrificially, just as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25).

It calls wives to respect their husbands and partner with them in God's design for the home (Ephesians 5:22-24, 33).

It calls grandparents to pass God's truth on to the next generation (Psalm 78:4-7; 2 Timothy 1:5).

In short, every member of the family has a sacred responsibility.

The fifth commandment reminds us to place people ahead of personal preferences. It teaches us to keep our promises when marriage becomes difficult, to remain faithful when commitment is costly, to forgive when we have been deeply hurt, to seek reconciliation rather than resentment, and to pursue peace instead of prolonged conflict whenever reconciliation is biblically possible (Romans 12:18).

Honor is more than respectful words. It is a lifestyle of humility, gratitude, faithfulness, and sacrificial love.

For some believers, honoring parents is joyful because they were raised by godly mothers and fathers. For others, it is much harder because their parents failed them in significant ways. Scripture never excuses abuse or calls evil good. Yet even in painful situations, believers are called to maintain an attitude free from hatred and bitterness while exercising wisdom, truthfulness, and appropriate boundaries when necessary (Romans 12:17-21; Ephesians 4:31-32). Honor does not always mean agreement, approval, or unlimited access. It always means responding in a way that pleases Christ.

The Christian home is not built upon perfection but upon repentance. Strong families are not families without problems; they are families that repeatedly return to the cross, confess their sins, extend forgiveness, and begin again through the grace of God.

When families treasure God's Word, practice humble repentance, pray together, forgive quickly, and love sacrificially, they become living testimonies to the transforming power of the gospel.

To honor our father and mother is to honor God's wisdom.

To honor marriage is to honor God's design.

To cherish the family is to cherish one of God's greatest earthly gifts.

And when we honor God's design for the home, we honor the God who designed it.

“No man can consider himself a success if his children are failures.” ~ Seneca

Your good Father and mine says that...

"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him." Psalm 127:3 nlt

They were given as gifts. So kind of God to create these kids in the womb, and yet they each grow up and make their own decisions that they are responsible for. A dad is responsible to raise em wisely according to the word -- we own that part of it.

Liney wanted three. She didn’t get a girl as was hoped for, but we are happy. I received three gifts (even though they are God’s property, bought at a price like I was too cuz of the Cross). Will the kids always act like good gifts? Did you? Did I?

“Children are a gift from God; they are his reward.” “ tlb

I wasn’t a perfect dad at times, and don’t have any excuses. So many things I learned later on.. and am still learning. Yo.. dads. Listen up. Up to God’s word. A father's life can cast a long Long LONG shadow. Choose to reflect the pure light of (God’s) agape love.. instead of some worldly lameness or negative shadow. We all need Jesus moment by moment more than we know, and a healthy grace church to help us out. They all flawed, but not all of them are spiritually sick. He'd sure go with that statement.

So many boys, girls, men and women today have pain from fractured relationships with their dads. It hurts your Father too.

Forgive people, forgive God (he’s done none any wrong). God is light and in Him there’s no darkness -- His love is totally loyal.

Yes forgive, it’s a choice daily.. pray without ceasing .. in faith and more so than you’ve done before -- repeat until we see the results. Reach out again. Why wait, life is so short. So many see themselves through the eyes of their fathers, but they need to start receive forgiveness and see themselves through their Father’s eyes. He will embrace you tight, warmly and right. God loves you like no other will, and He sees what he made as exceedingly beautiful -- yep, He sees all the potential too. You are highly valued, cherished and prized!!!! No, far more than you can imagine.

“Who can you go to when you have a crisis in your life? Dad was number 48 on the list (from a survey).” ~ Josh McDowell

Kids said: I can't go to my dad with it cuz he doesn't have the time and wouldn’t understand.

I have friends who minister in prisons and when younger I used to weekly join them in this. They've asked: How many of you have had a good relationship with your dad at home? They've not at any time seen one hand, and I've not seen one hand raised.

So many didn't have a dad at home. One inmate said his visiting dad (which happened rarely) told him this: "You are merely the product of a one night stand." Ouch!!!!

Start a relationship, dads. You do it.

Start one with your dad if he won’t start one with you.. if you can. Let’s get this as right as possible -- God can help and guide you in this. Pour out your heart to your heavenly Father first.

Sure, you're the law-giver in the home of course, dad's (I had a handful of simple house rules for keeping order in the house for our three boys and I made sure that my wife, Liney was in full agreement with them first. Like: No drugs, no secular lyrics in music that tears down, no porn or perverse gaming that tears down, no drinking, no fornication, no put-down to any, (healthy, not religious) church time with us on Sundays, no sneaking out the 2nd floor or any window after bed-time, no fist-fights or cussing out of people..). But give grace too! Duh! Let your home be a place of strong, steady, kind, consistent grace just like your heavenly Father gives out.

Why let the gangs raise your kids and they will accept and be glad to if you don’t. Dads, we are responsible for living it, modeling the life of love. We are responsible for raising our kids as the Lord wants us to. See the Word. Live in the Word. When they are adults, we are not responsible for the choices they make, but now is the time to get started in helping them to make wise choices when they grow up. Lead them to Jesus now and to a healthy Bible teaching church.

My dad is a best friend today. He was an alcoholic and I didn’t like him for years, but now he is IN Christ and God has changed him.. but he started changing me first..on my knees. You too can turn and trust Christ today, sure now is good!

I forgave my dad, Kim, and he also forgave me. Didn’t have to. If He didn’t.. no worries I already did forgive him because I love him. What does the Bible say on this? God says....

“Remember the law of My servant Moses, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him for all Israel at Horeb. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome Day of the LORD. 6\And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers. Otherwise, I will come and strike the land with a curse.” ~ Malachi 4:4-6

Had a group of teens back in the day for some years that I’d meet with a couple times a week to encourage. Yeah, had some basic house rules for them as well.

KURT’S YOUTH ROOM TOP TEN

“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others” (Phil 2:4).

1. No diving over people onto the furniture, no trampoline-ing on the furniture either. When you take your place upon a couch or chair, don’t leap or plop down and break it.

2. No diving, no skateboard ollies (getting big air), or lounging upon the ping pong or other tables.

3. No video games allowed on the big screen TVs (those are for edifying music-vids. Use good games (only that are approved), but only with the cheapo TVs) cuz the music seem to way better.

4. No wrestling, seductive skimpy clothing, karate kicks, profanity, cigs, chew, alcohol, guns, weapons, drugs (or selling of the like) and no dancing in the flesh. No throwing of food or hard items that make holes in the walls or windows. No super lame tiger-beat (type of) teen idol mags, porn or perverse and violent games. No secular music CDs, no inordinate PDA, no disrespect toward adults even if they act like dweebs. Obey short of sin, show respect, be kind and watch your heart attitude.

5. No one is allowed in the kitchen to eat all the food in one sitting (except for the youth leaders and those they designate to be helping them).

6. Don’t get rough with the sisters (spiritually born again girls).

7. Arise in the Spirit prayin' n seekin' the Lord early please, and then arrive wise. Yeah, come prayed-up and word-full. You know, attentive and ready to hear, grow, serve, edify, and encourage others.

8. No howling in the hallways (God is trying to minister to your parents in the main sanctuary).

9. No fun or breathing is allowed--fold your hands and act pious (come on! Lighten up, this one’s just a joke).

10. If you scarf-down, munch, chow, just you clean up. Simple. Yes, if you bring food in the room, don’t just leave your trash laying around smellin’ all gross like McDonalds burgers, and please get the food out of the carpeting. Thanks.

And why? Well, the senior pastor requested, “Let’s just make it our thoughtful policy and ongoing lifestyle to leave it nicer (if possible) for the next person who will use it.”

Much of the anguish in today’s families can be traced to fractured relationships between fathers and their children. Can we open those clenched fists and hearts, restoring both dialogue and love? Can we work to mend the broken ties with our fathers?

Win your kid’s hearts over, and then over to the Lord.

Imitate communication -- connect. Keep the lines of communication open. Please please forgive me. Hypocrites demand others obey, not not themselves. Tactfully ask the right questions, and enter into their world short of sinning. Be yourself, not lame -- you don’t have to act or act like a teen. Say something helpful. Start it. Be the lawgiver but also the Big Grace giver! Model grace.

God in Ezekiel 18:20 tells us, “The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son.”

The Bible mentions “generational curses” in places (like in Exodus 20:5; 34:7; Numbers 14:18; Deuteronomy 5:9). God warns that He is “a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.” But the curse can be broken in forsaking the sin habits of your dad -- in can be broken in Christ

Exodus 20:5 says, “You shall not bow down to [idols] or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.”

Jesus Christ, who came into the world to exchange His perfection for our sin. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21). We’ve all blown it in sin. Jesus was punished for us, in my place, in your place. Fish4souls.org - blog

NEWS FLASH: THERE ARE NOW OVER 20 MILLION CHILDREN LIVING WITHOUT A FATHER IN THE HOME.

Yeah, today Lutzer says it's 20,000,000+ kids.

That impacts a Land for decades to come!

I am thankful for my dad who could have chosen the bottle over his wife and four kids, but he didn't. Am also grateful to my Heavenly Father who helped my mom and dad get back together just weeks after their split due to their beloved bottle-habit.

What does the Bible say about breaking generational curses?

What does the Bible say about the shame and regrets of dads and kids?

They come, they go, and later comes another one. The storms do and some are loud. They visit every life. Kind of like trials for a Christian I guess

When things cleaned up a bit, my boys wanted to head off to the zoo. Hey dads, there’s a blessing in the storm or right afterwards. Hold your course.

Choose smart, instead of going along with what the whacko culture says to do. Wait ‘til marriage to have sex and then stay married. Always love the Lord most, then your spouse more than the kids, and then the kids more than your work and other things or people. What were common marriage customs in Bible times? What does God say on this?

Is it wrong for a couple to live together before marriage?

Premarital sex – why are Christians so strongly against it?

Is remarriage after divorce always adultery? Nope.

Is it a sin to elope? What does the Bible say about eloping? Nope, but first think about the feelings of your parents and grandparents.

Making marriage last - what is the key? Am still learning as a guy should. : )

What does the Bible say about prenuptial agreements?

Are children punished for the sins of their parents? Nope.

Sometimes at night I'd lie awake
Longing inside for my father's embrace
Sometimes at night
I'd wander downstairs
And pray he'd returned

But no one was there
Oh, how I cried
A child all alone
Waiting for him to come home

My father's chair sat in an empty room
My father's chair
Covered with sheets of gloom
My father's chair, through all the years
And all the tears I cried in vain
For no one was there
In my father's chair

Sometimes at night, I sit all alone
Drifting asleep in a chair of my own
When sweet, sleepy eyes
Peer down from the hall
Frightened by dreams they cannot recall
Holding them close, calming their fears
Praying they always will say...

"My father's chair sits in a loving room
My father's chair, no matter what I do
My father's chair, through all the years
And all the tears, I need not fear
Love's always there in my father's chair."

Sometimes at night, I dream of a throne
Of my loving God calling me home
And as I appear, he rises and smiles
Reaches with love to welcome his child
Never to cry, never to fear
In his arms; safe and secure

My father's chair sits in a royal room
My father's chair
Holds glory beyond the tomb
My father's chair, my God is there
And I am his eternal heir
Someday I'll share my father's chair
My father's chair ~ David Meece lyrics
