"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved." Eph. 2:4-5

What!? How could that be, Mary? Now what’s the right thing for me to do? Just wondering about Joe's thoughts.
What kind of birthday party guests are the shepherds? Smelly and all? They made their way and then saw the baby in a manger. They told people about the Good News! They went back home and told everybody. They gossiped the gospel. The Angels celebrated too. Hey, God knows what He’s doing -- still does. Are you bless-able? God’s grace has been shown to all people.
(Yeah, I like tree pics -- I consider those bait to get your attention so you'll read the Bible Message)

What happened to those resolutions? Did you make any new ones?
"The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." Proverbs 16:9
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
"And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful." Colossians 3:14-15
One of the best things about ‘resolutions’.. is breaking em. Not that I have this year ..yet ..or really want to, but...

What's your take on New Years and on all the Resolutions that go along with it?
Huh! You can do how much? Isn't it the Lord who gives us our next breath and the ability to breathe?
"Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit'— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.' As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin." James 4:13-17
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." Psalm 23:1
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
"In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:6

Things To Do To Have A Horrible New Year
That's kind of a silly title huh. Of course I hope you will not have a miserable new year--not even for one day.
And that's why I'm writing this thing. We each can consider the decisions we could potentially make early on ..that would help us to insure that we will have an extremely bad or good year. It's up to us. We each will decide, no matter what happens circumstantially. Some people want to get in Christ and sow to the Spirit rather than to the flesh—they want to know what to avoid in advance, and what to trust God for.
Perhaps last year was really hard for you and your family. Maybe you lost a loved one, broke up with your boy or girlfriend, saw your stock investments take a dive, experienced a divorce, were kicked out of your place of employment or your dwelling. I'm so sorry for that if it was a year of pain for you!
You've more than likely been hurt in your past by a person, an organization etc—who hasn't been? Maybe you've suffered some reversals, some major set-backs, some unexpected trials, some severe testings, or embarrassing failures. Lots of people have.
Whatever it was, it's time to make sure that all our sins are under the blood of Christ; to confess and find forgiveness if needed, to get back up again, to forget the past and press on advancing forwards in the Spirit and in love of Christ. This can be the year that you brush yourself off, forgive other hard-to-love-people and stand up against all the wiles of the real enemy to experience growth and victory like never before. This can be the year that God uses you to reap a harvest as you lead someone or some people into the Kingdom!
But if you think otherwise and really want to experience a miserable year, you could opt to…
1. Worry a whole lot.. even though Jesus in the Bible commanded: "I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on" (Lk.
2. Fix your attention on self and ways to get rich quick. You could lounge around in your underwear, bathrobe and fuzzy slippers all day, and attend some webinars about how to buy eight homes only to sell them next week for a profit of $300,000. You could join some new pyramid company where they teach you how to get others working for you so you won't have to.
Wrote this in 2009.. and then lost have of it. Sorry.
