The Canceling Of The Cross Verses The Culture That Just Loves to Cancel. Think About That Contrast.

Contrary to all the negativity we've been seeing with the Cancel Culture, here's something positive for you to meditate upon:

At the Cross, on that lonely hill called Calvary, Jesus literally canceled Satan and his hideous gang (I sometimes call this loser, Mr. Lu-Cifer, with his lying fallen-angel thugs [all deceptive losers]). Yes, they were permanently defeated there.

You know, since The Fall, there's been so much destructive negativity stemming from them and the lost Liberal human mobs, with all their funding and cancel culture activities. We've been seeing it often, but what Christ did for us is WAY BETTER THAN EXCELLENT for humanity!

You and I can rejoice and celebrate His type of canceling. What are you even talking about, Kurt?

Believer, Jesus Christ completely canceled the record of the charges against you and me -- He took it all away by nailing it to the cross. He completely destroyed the record of real spiritual debt that we each owed, effectively erasing our sins and the legal demands of the law by having it all nailed! It was pinned down on two wooden beams, thus disarming spiritual authorities and freeing us from their claim.

The Bible says, "And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities 2 and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him." Colossians 2;13-15 esv

"When you are with unbelievers, always make good use of the time. Be pleasant and hold their interest when you speak the message. Choose your words carefully and be ready to give answers to anyone who asks questions." Col. 4:5,6

All our minutes are important. Look for common ground and keep the dialogue open as best you can. Some can take bluntness and others cannot so be discerning. Build a bridge rather than burn a bridge down (a.k.a. permanently canceling people).

I love God's type of canceling on that tree, but I can't stand the world's type of cruel canceling.

Who killed Jesus?

What trials did Jesus face before His crucifixion?

Why was Jesus crucified?

Was Jesus crucified on a cross, pole, or stake?

What is the history of crucifixion? What was crucifixion like back in the day?

On what day was Jesus crucified?

What can we learn from the thief on the cross?

Was Jesus crucified on the Day of Preparation?

Did God sacrifice Himself?

Where was Jesus for the three days after His physical death?

Why did Jesus say “Father, forgive them” on the cross?

What time was Jesus crucified? What time did Jesus die on the cross?

Who was responsible for Christ's death?

What does it mean that “it is no longer I who live” in Galatians 2:20?

Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ SO important?

Is there any proof outside the Bible that Jesus was resurrected and is now alive?

Was Jesus resurrected? How can you prove Christ's physical resurrection?

The Bible gives us Christians the proper response to an offender who truly repents of sin:

Real restoration. Paul instructs us: “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted” (Galatians 6:1). The goal is not to shame an enemy into oblivion but to restore a broken brother gently.

We have a clear, higher calling than the mob's rage. Lost people sin because they are lost people (dead in their human spirit) who desperately need to repent unto receive Christ's forgiveness by faith, and a new nature inside. When we win them to Jesus, regeneration and change immediately start to happen inside. We witness with the gospel, and God does His part, turning our hateful enemies into friends. You can change your mind and have a new start right now!

We love because He first loved us. Believer, you and I are to model the very love that was shown to us, the love that covers a multitude of sins (See 1 Peter 4:8).

Where Some See Calls for Accountability, Others See Censorship and Severe Punishment.

That ugly "cancel culture" we often see in our day has led to a whole lot of hate, bullying and harassment. It creates a climate of fear that stifles open dialogue, honest conversation between those who disagree, and it inflicts serious punishment that is way disproportionate to what "the offended" feels is the original offense of him who disagrees. Many young people have defended this type of canceling as a way to hold powerful figures accountable.

What begins as a reaction to a genuine offense can quickly turn into a massive online shaming campaign that offers no room for nuance, context, or forgiveness.

There's an irreversibility with it. Because social media posts are often permanent, some individuals can be condemned for a single misstep done years in the past, without the opportunity for growth, learning, or redemption. Many people who are "canceled" describe feeling that they are not given a chance to apologize or change their behavior.

While powerful public figures often have the resources to weather the storm of cancellation, ordinary individuals are more likely to suffer devastating consequences, such as losing their jobs or livelihoods.

It's from a mob mentality (that quickly becomes harassment, threats, and public ridicule), Cyberbullying (it's less about fair justice and more about performative outrage, creating a toxic environment), and bystanders experience fear and anxiety from witnessing others get "canceled." There's a fear of saying or doing the wrong thing according to the mob, and this stifles open and healthy discourse; therefore, many individuals, even on college campuses, choose to self-censor.

Has there been trauma from the world's canceling? Uhh yes. More horrible political polarization happens as a byproduct. This dynamic of mean canceling reinforces "echo chambers," and it pushes people further into their ideological corners.

Yes, this modern Social Justice culture has created an epidemic of trauma, intolerance, and fear (though they claim to be so tolerant). A 2020 study by the Cato Institute found that 62% of Americans say the current political climate prevents them from saying things they really believe in and want to discuss, a figure that includes a significant portion of younger, conservative-leaning individuals. This is not dialogue; it is stifled discourse enforced by the threat of digital stonings.

The constant exposure to this online outrage and the spectacle of public shaming is so emotionally draining for the masses of those who keep witnessing it.

The hate can so quickly go public and turn into serious physical violence. Charlie Kirk got cancelled by haters--this was a real martyrdom. His work will go on far more impactful!

I've heard.. and you've heard a lot about Cancel Culture today. So many decent people have been cancelled.

“Cancel culture” has become the modern mob’s megaphone — swift to shame, eager to silence, and determined to erase. It is more than calling out evil or seeking justice; it’s the attempt to banish any person, idea, or voice that dares to offend the ever-changing dogmas of our age. A single tweet, a decades-old remark, a difference in conviction — and a life’s work can be dismantled in a day.

This phenomenon is not new. It is the child of political correctness, which polices language, and postmodernism, which denies objective truth. Together, they have produced a society where “tolerance” is the supreme virtue — until you disagree. Then, the same culture that preaches acceptance becomes mercilessly intolerant. As G.K. Chesterton warned, “Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions.”

But God’s Word exposes the very roots of cancel culture — and calls believers to a radically different way of life.

  1. The cancel culture is rash and reckless. Driven by outrage rather than real evidence, it dispenses judgment before truth. Yet Scripture calls us to sober thinking: “Ponder the path of your feet” (Proverbs 4:26). “Be sensible,” Paul urges (Titus 2:12). Wisdom waits on the Lord's gentle, kind, biblical leading; cancel culture rushes in to hurt people. Sin always hurts God when He sees the people He loves getting hurt and destroyed.

  2. The cancel culture is cruel and spiteful. Hatred fuels the mob. Names are dragged through the mud, reputations shredded. But Jesus commands the opposite: “Love your enemies… bless those who curse you” (Luke 6:27–28). As John Newton wrote, “I am a great sinner, but Christ is a greater Savior.” Grace, not Liberal or Rino venom, must shape our speech.

  3. The cancel culture is hypocritically judgmental. Cancel culture scours the past for reasons to condemn, yet offers no grace to others — or itself. Jesus warns, “Judge not, lest you be judged” (Matthew 7:1). We who have been shown mercy must extend mercy.

  4. The cancel culture is unforgiving. Once “canceled,” a person is beyond redemption to them. There is no second chance, no restoration, no new beginning. But listen: the gospel offers what cancel culture never can offer us--grace: “Forgive one another.. as the Lord forgave you” (Colossians 3:13). The real Church (I don't mean many so-called churches that are off with what they teach) must be a community where kind grace is greater than guilt and religiousity.

Surveys today show us that over 60% of Americans self-censor today for fear of a social backlash (George Barna, 2023). Yet silence is not our calling, Christians. We are to “speak the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15) — to continue boldly, graciously, tactfully, faithfully. Fear of man is not to silence us with the gospel message. It didn't silence Him. Think about Him and His finished work again and again! Pray about what your part can be in spreading the Good News.

Here is the deeper irony: in the most profound act of “cancellation” in history, God canceled sin itself and Satan. On the cross, “He forgave us all our trespasses, canceling the record of debt.. nailing it to the cross” (Colossians 2:13–14). Yes indeed, at Calvary, Christ “completely de-platformed” Satan so to speak, “disarming the rulers and authorities.. and triumphing over them” (v.15).

The corrupt world system cancels and condemns people, but Christ cancels all their condemnation if they let Him. The mob says, “You are beyond redemption and you must pay!” The gospel says, “No one is beyond free grace.”

The hymn writer nailed it here:

“My sin — oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more…”

So, let the culture rage on. We can counter the violent counterculture with Christ's agape love.

We will not trade compassion for their type of contempt, or grace for grudges. We will speak the truth with courage and love (like Charlie Kird did), knowing that redemption is real, forgiveness is possible, and no one needs to stay a lost cause on into a real place called hell.

Because while cancel culture screams, “I hate you! Now be gone forever,” the Savior whispers, “Come home right now. Don't put it off--I love you. Yes, get home before dark.”

Thomas Sowell said, "When you want to help someone, you'll tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you'll tell them what they want to hear."

Please tell em what's really so.. as much as they can handle at that moment.

"Wokeness" is "the most insidious and dangerous and pervasive ideology I have ever seen in all of my life." ~ Tommy Nelson, pastor of Denton Bible Church

Cancel culture is graceless — woke is so broke!

Victimization is merely self-righteous vengeance.

Wokeness seeks to cancel anything or anyone that doesn’t bow to its ideology. And how is that pleasing to God or Christian at all? It isn’t.

How is that a loving type of grace? It’s totally graceless. Where do we see the cancel culture in the Bible? You know most of the 12 Apostles eventually got killed (canceled) for their faith, but they and their (Christ’s) work lives on!

“‘But to keep this Message from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them not to speak to anyone in this name.’ Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, ‘Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than God. For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.’ After further threats they let them go. They could not find a way to punish them, because all the people were glorifying God for what had happened.” Acts 4:18–21

Wokeness is “hypocritical racism.” We often see it in our universities today.

Greed and exploitation are growing themes in our corrupt world system now.

Where did wokeness come from?

The Bible says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).

Do you need to be rightly awakened by the Spirit? Sure, and it can happen. Need a second chance at life? Today, even right here and now, you can be born of God’s Spirit!

As Christians, we should be spiritually “woke up” into the real life and love of God for our family members in Christ. Let’s show respect and genuine love towards all people. It starts on our knees.

Once we were blind in our sin, but Christians are biblically given new sight, and a righteous (not self-righteous) standing before God, and a new perspective from the Holy Spirit. The Bible says:

“Anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them” (1 John 2:11).

We each should be “woke up” to the light of the true Gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4). Yes, we each should be “woke” to the fact of real temptations in the world (Matthew 26:41).

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:10–17 nlt (Read more.. blog)

If you are dead inside spiritually.. if you are asleep in the dark then guess what.. you really do need to be woke up ..by Christ and His sound Gospel message.

What's to cancel? This -- the Cancel Culture.

Many people feel so alone and isolated today. I hate that. Wanna live to change this.

Q: So, how do you feel about the Cancel Culture?

image

Does it seem as though hatred and division abound these days? Does it seem like every news story we see is more distressing than the one before? The natural question to ask is, Sup with all that? What is going on and where do we go from here?

To live in our day:

1.) It takes wisdom (that's about doing the right thing without any president in this era that’s without any president).

2.) It takes supernatural courage.. yeah, takes boldness.

3.) It takes God’s power, anointing and love working through us to get the truth out.

Jeremiah experienced an early cancel culture first hand, up close and personal.

"Then they said, 'Come and let us devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come and let us attack him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.” Jeremiah 18:18

Remember when Jesus canceled that woman who was caught in act of adultery? Neither do I because it never happened. Come to Him as you are.

“..the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. ‘Teacher,’ they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”

Remember Jesus meeting that woman at the well that he cold shouldered and canceled (that also never happened). Her own people had canceled her through, but Jesus quickly accepted her cuz of 100% pure love for her.

Here’s a good idea. Let's cancel.. the smug, know-it-all, accusatory, arrogant Liberal, cold-blooded judgmental, cancel culture in our society. Don’t you feel sick of the Liberals...

  • Socialism
  • The Huge Push Towards Globalism, Open borders and a cashless society
  • Pandemic and how it’s been politically weaponized
  • Economic Chaos
  • Apostacy -- the Falling Away. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold." Matthew 24:12
  • The Violence and Blindness Regarding These End Times
  • The Cancel Culture
  • Spiritual Famine - People are Not Satisfied and Hungrier today than Ever Before and yet the Word of God is more Available than Ever Before
  • The Hatred of Jerusalem and of the Jews
  • Ignorance of Christ’s Triumph on the Cross and of His Gospel

Look at the ministry of Jesus -- He really loved people from every background and culture. Never canceled them out. When the world put them out, He took them in. He still delights to forgive and love people now. Remember how He was reaching people in a variety of ways.

  • He preached on hillsides and in marketplaces.
  • He stood on a boat and spoke to people on the shoreline.
  • He sat and talked with children.
  • He personally trained twelve men.
  • He spoke to a woman at a well.

And while the methods of communication have changed these days a bit since then, His Gospel message is still reaching people today in countless ways, on numerous platforms through believers around the globe.

It's no time now for us to become like those the Liberals and their cancel culture. It’s no time to become bitter, gripey, finger-pointing, grumpy, or hateful of people and syndical.. cuz our own sins were canceled out. The Bible says...

"When you were dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our trespasses, having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross." Colossians 2:13-15

“..by abolishing in His flesh the law of commandments and decrees. He did this to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace.”  Ephesians 2:15

“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. ‘By His stripes you are healed.’" 1 Peter 2:24

Gradually, then suddenly out of a relationship regarding the most important relationship one can have. It'll sadly happen here.

“How did you go bankrupt? Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly.” ― Ernest Hemingway

It's the same two ways that people go spiritually bankrupt in our day. Gradually with li'l spiritual compromises here and there, and then suddenly.

We each need to keep our guard up. Spiritual bankruptcy is the worst sort of bankruptcy, the worst sort of horrible and yet with many so called believers, this will happen pre-snatching away.

It's true. Let it not happen with you -- it's not allowed. Please. There'll be a great defection away Christ before the Rapture happens (a great apostasy), but God never said in the Bible that there'll be a great revival on earth first.. though we all hope that will happen. Will there will be a Spiritual Awakening during the seven years of tribulation even though the church will be out of here? Yep, when 144,000 on fire Jewish evangelists witness, sow seeds of faith and reap -- when they go to winning people to Jesus here.

It's fascinating to hear about. They lose their lives because of their bold faith, but God keeps them all. Doesn't lose even one of them. See the end of the story in the Revelation.

Did you know that, "66% of Americans believe that there will be a real second coming of Christ in the future."~ Greg Laurie

This is pretty visceral stuff isn't it? Could this going away from the faith and from Jesus already have started? It looks like it has.

When Gallup Management consulting company started measuring local church membership among American adults back in 1937, church membership in this nation was at 73%.

In the early 1980s it was at more than 70% of American adults who said they belonged to a local Christian church. Then by the early 2000s it was at 65% of American adults, and by the year 2010 it was at 59%. And now in 2021 it’s less than half the nation's population -- it’s currently at 47% who say they are part of a local church. What's up with this decline, this going away from the faith? That's not a good trend at all.

The Bible talks about a great falling away from the faith before the Rapture (The catching away of born again Christians) happens here.

How do I describe this? Is this a trampled of the Son of God under foot, a treating what's holy as an unholy thing this blood of the covenant, is this an incredibly rude insulting of the Spirit of grace? Yes.

Judas also did that. Let's never!

“How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay,” and again, 'The Lord will judge His people.' It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.." Hebrews 10:29-31a

As those of this world system continue on toward globalism.. setting the stage for the Antichrist to come on the scene right before the rapture.. lawlessness and hate crimes seem to keep escalating.

As the worldly including our corrupt political leaders (on both sides of the aisle) keep pushing for open borders and Socialism without any accountability included, it seems like people for the most part have become increasingly depraved in these last days. How can Christians and others flourish in this kind of dangerous environment of cancel culture, lying news media, BLM, Antifa?

Socialism wants us all to forget our history and forget learning from it, but God wants us to remember. Over and over again in the Bible we see that word -- remember.

They want to cancel our police departments and have already reduced their budgets radically.. only to discover that there's been a big uptick in violent crimes. Duh!

Socialism, Marxism, Communism -- it's always been like that seeking to bring about their so called utopia via chaos and violence, but it fails every time it's tried.

They've always been about the redistribution of people's possessions and wealth, giving it away to the poor "to be fair" (many of whom refuse to work), and everyone get's poorer. It's never ever worked, just failed over and over again.

You know how expressing politically incorrect ideas can get people fired or start a fight these days. You know how disagreeing with popular opinions used to be seen in public leading to a healthy debate, well now it results in job-losses, harassment, doxing, humiliation and the total removal from public life. Yep, that's all part of the danger with this cancel culture movement. Is this just a temporary trend or a signal of the end times?

As those of this world struggle just to recover from the plague Covid-19 with its different variants, it seems like people are spiritually hungrier now than ever before... and yet and they're not turning to the word of God to satisfy their craving and desperation. And think about it.. the Word of God is more available around the globe than at any time in previous history.

As those of this world system keep pushing to chip people as they are already doing in some nations, as they keep pushing for a cashless society everywhere, what should Christians be praying, thinking and doing?

Electric transactions and cryptocurrencies may be popular, we should Christians participate in the digital economy?

What does all this mean for the Church regarding the urgency of our mission in these final hours?

I want to stay focused on Jesus and spreading his good news. I'm looking for Jesus Christ, not the Antichrist though the stage is getting set for him.

Living as a Christian in a fallen world has never been easy for any believer, and now so many alleged Christian leaders and people have been falling away from Christ and from his church.

Broken homes, broken dreams and broken people have become the norm in our day. The Bible says in these last days of selfish people damaging families prior to the years of tribulation that people will be disobedient to parents,  unthankful, unholy, I'm loving and unforgiving.

Something is changing -- the bad is getting worse in our society.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!.. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned.." 2 Timothy 3:1-5 & 13-14

Almost forth of the USA, yes our nation's population are millennials. There are more than 72 million millennials in the USA and increasingly they have walked away from of any kind faith, choosing to identify themselves as religious-nones. They check none of the above.

Every apostate person is an unbeliever, but not every unbeliever is an apostate. An Apostate person who once claimed to be a Christian believer was never really saved in the first place.

The Greek word for this term "Apostate" is found only twice in the Bible in Acts 21:21, 2 Thessalonians 2:3.

There will be a great defection from the Christian faith and from Jesus before the rapture, a great apostasy but God doesn't say in the Bible that there will be a great revival first.. though we all hope that will happen.

There will be an Awakening during the seven years of tribulation when 144,000 on fire Jewish witnesses, effective evangelists that will win people to Christ. Thousands will come to Christ.

in Christ all of it discourse he warned that because of lawlessness the love of many will grow cold.

Demas was apostate because he loved this present world.

Why they leave the church and Christ..

1. they are deceived spiritually by false teachers with religious sounding lies and no conscience. Lots of scams. See 1 Tim 4:1-2.

So called believers are falling away because they are deceived, disillusioned, disenchanted, disappointed, and gotten distracted. It so easy in our fast paced world to get discouraged -- let's stay focused.

What are some practical things that we can do to keep ourselves in the will of God?

I say examine yourself because the Bible says to do that. The apostle Paul challenges each of us to, "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Can’t you see for yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you— unless you actually fail the test? And I hope you will realize that we have not failed the test." 2 Corinthians 13:5-6

And test yourself, am I really spiritually born again in Christ? See John 3:3

I say encourage yourselves in the Lord.  King David did that when his men turned on him and he got feelin' really down. David strengthened himself in his faith.

I say exercise yourself toward godliness. Keep growing, why be a sitting target. At least be a moving target.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day when I judge them, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me you are banished from My presence, you who act wickedly disregarding My commands.’" Matthew 7:21-23 amp

"Let us press on to perfection. For as touching those who were once enlightened, and fall away, it is impossible to renew them again. The argument is one of unspeakable solemnity. It is in the Christian life as with all progress amid difficulties. In commerce, in study, in war, it is so often said: there is no safety but in advance. To stand still is to go back. To cease effort is to lose ground. To slacken the pace, before the goal is reached, is to lose the race. The only sure mark of our being true Christians, of our really loving Christ, is the deep longing and the steady effort to know more of Him. Tens of thousands have proved that to be content with beginning well is but the first step on a backward course, that ends in losing all. The whole point of the argument from the case of those who fall away is—Let us press on to perfection." ~ Andrew Murray

Press on, believer. Keep on building yourself up in your most holy faith. Keep following the Word. Keep walking close relationship with Jesus all red hot spiritually. Prayerfully set new goals and follow Jesus with that foot work.

Falling away for us believers, is not allowed! Stop it, let's not do that, it's not allowed. It's not at all permitted! Growing spiritually is allowed.

"And now to him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in his bright presence, fresh and celebrating—to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all time. Yes." Jude 1:24-25 msg

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,”
jude 124

Live Not By Lies. ~ Alexander Solzhenitsyn
The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy. Proverbs 12:22

Sunday, March 14, 2021

God is faithful. The world is not -- the world and worldlings can cancel you.. cuz they are cruel, heartless and mean. Got oppostion? Have you been under attack? Have health issues, trials, circumstances, or arrogant religious folk on your case? Have worldly people canceled you, or your career etc before? The crucified, and now living Lord understands you. He ain't like that.

"Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Refrain:

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow—Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!" ~ Thomas O. Chisholm (an insurance salesman and part time preacher. What did he base those lyrics on? These words..)

"This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. 'The LORD is my portion,' says my soul, 'therefore I hope in Him!' The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD." Lam. 3:21-26

The opposing cancel culture and canceling-circumstances will one day soon.. be canceled.

Thomas Chisholm lived until February 29, 1960 and was an American songwriter who wrote several prominent Christian hymns. So where was Thomas born? It was in Franklin, Kentucky on July 29, 1866 in a log cabin. He became a teacher at age sixteen.

Did he hear and grasp the truth of the gospel? Yep, not merely religious was he. When was this? In 1893, at aged 27, Mr. Chisholm repented of his sins and believed in the Jesus Christ of the Bible. The most important decision of his life! Yes, Thomas was regenerated inside -- born of the Spirit. He had a first-hand experience with God in this conversion. It was during a revival in Franklin that was led by Dr. Henry Clay Morrison..where Thomas was led to the Lord. And later on?

Thomas served as a Methodist minister for only one year before resigning due to his poor health.

The circumstances of life basically canceled his career, but God still used and kept him. In spite of what happens to you here, choose to stay blessable and see God as He is. Kind, fair, good. Keep yourself within reach of this one God who longs to bless you. He can keep and help you!

Q. Have health issues, or tough circumstances, or evil people (from say the cancel culture) canceled your career before? I say trust God anyways -- He loves you and still has a good plan. Thomas, if he was still here, would say the same thing to you. No matter what life or others do to you.. God's purposes will be fulfilled -- cling to Christ who was put on a cruel cross by the cancel culture folk of His day.

Please prayerfully memorize Romans 8:28-29. Behind all the bitter, mean, cold-cruel circumstances of this life is God's providence of kindness for you.

In 1909 Chisholm began working as a life insurance agent which he really enjoyed. This was in Winona Lake and Vineland, New Jersey.

How did God use Chisholm? In one area he wrote over 1,200 sacred poems over his lifetime, which communicated his faith. These appeared in many Christian periodicals, and he served as an editor of the Pentecostal Herald in Louisville for a period.

In 1923 at age fifty-seven, Chisholm wrote the very popular song Great Is Thy Faithfulness which he submitted to William M. Runyan who was affiliated with the sound Moody Bible Institute and Runyan set the song to music. What a testimony!

So what are we learning today? To rest in, to revive in, to rally to, to rely upon the faithful Lord. It's a weird day to live in now, not seen days like this before.

Everything was getting canceled.. weddings, graduations, church services, funerals, businesses, schools, vacations, jobs. Even Mr. Potato head, the cat in the hat, green eggs and cheese -- yeah, Dr. Seuss, and other people's lives too. By mean and ignorant fools.

But our God is one of Love and accurate Justice. His timing is perfect with that. While we have time.. shine the light real bright, and share His gospel with loved ones. Be more known for what you are for, than what you are against. We are for Lord first, for His soon return, and for all people coming to Him..living rapture-ready! There are still so many excellent things and good causes to be involved with ..as Jesus leads us.

God doesn't want to cancel out or erase people, he loves and wants to bless all people..and will do that if they will turn and trust His Son. If they will by faith receive His Son and His free forgiveness. None of us can earn it.

Been musing on.. "The wicked are headed for death and the grave; all the nations who forget the True God will share a similar fate." Psalm 9:17 ("..shall be turned in hell.." in the nkjv)

Seems like our nation has so many cruel wicked people and like they've been winning lately.

"At any moment I may decide to pull up a people or a country by the roots and get rid of them. But if they repent of their wicked lives, I will think twice and start over with them." Jeremiah 18:7, 8

Let's judge ourselves early and repent, Americans.. so we don't need to be judged later on. You know it's starts in God's house and then goes out to all those who basically have been asking for it by their attitudes, motives, selfish ideas, words, evil deeds. The Lord promises this...

"If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

"Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls—yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength.." Hab. 3:17-19a

"In heavenly armour we'll enter the land
The battle belongs to the Lord
No weapon that's fashioned against us shall stand
The battle belongs to the Lord
We sing glory, honor
Power and strength to the Lord
We sing glory, honor
Power and strength to the Lord

When the power of darkness comes in like a flood
The battle belongs to the Lord
He's raised up a standard, the power of His blood
The battle belongs to the Lord..

When your enemy presses in hard do not fear
The battle belongs to the Lord
Take courage my friend, your redemption is near
The battle belongs to the Lord." ~ Collins Jamie Sue and Owens Jamie

“ Above all powers
Above all kings
Above all nature
And all created things
Above all wisdom
And all the ways of man

You were here
Before the world began

Above all kingdoms
Above all thrones
Above all wonders
The world has ever known
Above all wealth
And treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure
What You're worth

Crucified
Laid behind a stone
You lived to die
Rejected and alone

Like a rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all.
