“There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it behooves us all not to talk (bad) about the rest of us.” ~ Robert Louis Stevenson
So much good really?..how much good in the worst of us? What does God say about this?
You and I would do well to trust the Word of God instead of our flesh or heart. We cannot trust our own hearts' desires apart from God. We would miss Him. See what Jeremiah 17:9 says, The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
“Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to notice the beam in your own eye? How can you say, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while you yourself fail to see the beam in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Luke 6:41-42
We ain’t flawless duh!.. am far from perfect. Yep, you and I are still under construction, believer. Let the Lord sanctify. But listen, you can be happy and live in victory today!
1. Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness – know him well and live for Christ. Make Jesus well known with his help. Yes, make up your mind to live happy in a relationship with your Lord. Learn to find pleasure in the simple things that he has for you. 2. We don’t always get the best, but we make the best of. Make the best of your circumstances biblically. No one has everything, and everyone has something of sorrow intermingled with gladness of life. The trick is to make the laughter outweigh the tears. There is hope, love and joy in the Lord. 3. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Have a good pure sense of humor, and laugh at yourself some. Endure the trials, testings and attacks, believer. Don’t think that somehow you should be protected from misfortune or the testings that befall other people. 4. You can’t please everybody, but you can please the Lord daily. Worship him all out and live for him even when others aren’t looking. Don’t let criticism from others worry you. It didn’t him. Jesus showed love towards his enemies as our example. 5. Don’t let your neighbor set your standards. No spiritual compromise or excuses or blame-shifting. Be quick to go tell on yourself and repent–take responsibility for what you did, or said. Be yourself in Jesus. 6. Do the things you enjoy doing but please stay out of debt bro. If in it, then get out of debt. 7. When there’s something you don’t understand, just fall back on what you know is true in the word. Then study diligently. Never borrow trouble. Imaginary things are harder to bear than real ones. 8. Since hate towards people poisons the soul, do not cherish jealousy, enmity, or grudges. Avoid people who make you unhappy..pulling you down spiritually. Just limit your time with carnal or nominal Christians and sinners who want to continue on in sin. Spend time with people influencing them towards Christ and what’s right, and ditch when they start pulling you down spiritually. Bad company corrupts good morals. 9. Have many good and healthy interests. If you can’t travel on purpose to share the Message yet, read the word and good books..and read about new places where people are needy for the Gospel. 10. Don’t hold post-mortems. Don’t spend your time brooding over sorrows or mistakes. Don’t be one who never gets over things. Get over it already. Move on walking in Christ’s Spirit of love. 11. Do what you can for those less fortunate than yourself. Serve people, Jesus showed us how to. 12. Keep busy at something the Lord leads you into. A busy person in the will of God never has time to be unhappy or backslide spiritually. Fish4souls.org
Need A Good Laugh? Here's Some Helpful Advice For Moms, Ladies. It's From Good Housekeeping - The May 13, 1955 Issue.
Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready, on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal (especially his favorite dish) is part of the warm welcome needed.
Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you"ll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh looking. He has just been with a lot of work weary people.
Be a little gay (Naww, careful with that one today) and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it.
Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives.
Gather up schoolbooks, toys paper etc. and then run a dust cloth over the tables.
Over the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering for his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.
Prepare the children. Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces (if they are small), comb their hair and , if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part. Minimise all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet.
Be happy to see him.
Listen to him You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first (LOL)--remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours (Say what?).
Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.
Make the evening his. Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner, or other places of entertainment without you. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his very real need to be at home and relax.
Your goal: Try to make sure your home is a place of peace, order and tranquility where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.
Don't greet him with complaints and problems.
Don't complain if he's late home for dinner or even if he stay out all night (as if! Guys, please don't be out all night. Might show up on Cops). Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through that day.
Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or have him lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.
Arrange his pillow (my side hurts from laughing) and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.
Don' ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.
A good wife always knows her place (Amazing huh).
Funny huh. Sounds like the Leave it to Beaver show (I still remember that). Thought you might like that. Me says.. listen to your mom, kids. Listen to your wife, husbands. Listen to God, wives. Please love, bless and obey Him more than us guys okay.
No one of this world (and you know the trends of this world system are changing daily) has the right to tell you mothers how to live. The Living Word of God does, and He is always looking out for your best interests. Yo, Heads up. To Every Righteous Mom Out There. On Mother’s Day Just Remember This. You Are the REAL “Wonder-Woman!” Yes, God Still Delights To Work His Wonders Through You. "The greatest contribution to The Kingdom of God may not be what we do as mothers, but who we raise." — @CatheLaurie
"She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out by night. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle. She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.”Proverbs 31:17-20
Today we're told that mothers still do the equivalent of 2.5 full time jobs. They are to be respected and honored. Four times the Scriptures mention her hands above. From the whole context, it sounds like she is proactive and productive, caring and compassionate. All believers can learn to adopt those four characteristics -- it'd be a good witness for those in the world.. if we did.
