Yo -- you can know in your knower, Bono. All can.

It's not an emotional experience really or a liver-quiver, it's a certainty.

How can I be absolutely certain. How can I be one hundred percent sure that I am saved -- how can I know it deep down in my knower? Can I? How can I have assurance of my salvation?

What if I don’t feel saved.. sometimes, or at all ever?

What does Peter mean when he tells us to make our calling and election sure in 2 Peter 1:10?

“Whenever I see grace, I’m moved.” ― Bono

Man, been there as well Bono, I can so relate. Good idea.. let’s all be more than merely moved inside, and move to nailin’ down the most important decision of life.

“For me.. it is probably more accurate to say, ‘I was really lost, I’m a little less so at the moment.. and then a little less and a little less again. That to me is the spiritual life.. It has slowly rebuilt me in a better image. It has taken years though, and it is not over yet.” ~ Paul David Hewson from Dublin, Ireland (Bono of U2)

Man, I appreciate his humble candor here don’t you? And sure living moral will be better for him or anyone than living less moral in this world. But Bono said he is a little less lost. What.. is that even possible?

If you doubt your salvation, does that mean you are not truly saved?

I was raised Catholic thinkin’ about a so called Purgatory place. Where you raised like that as well? Not to slight any with a question but here is what I had to consider..

Why should I repent and consider becoming born again spiritually.. I mean a real Christian? Anyone can be lost in any so called church really, but why stay that way?

Many Catholics of course believe a lot of right things.

Are Catholic beliefs on this topic and practices biblical? Many have Bibles with extra books that contradict other books in there.

What is salvation? What is the Christian doctrine of salvation?

What is free grace? What is Free Grace Theology?

What is the relationship of faith, works, and security in salvation?

How can I know if I have been reborn, you know as Jesus spoke of this?

What are some of the signs of genuine saving faith?

Does the vine and branches passage in John 15 mean that salvation can be lost?

Why is justification by faith such an important doctrine?

How to Be Absolutely Sure About Your Salvation

It ain’t based on a liver-quiver, goose bumps, or any emotions, but it can show up in your emotions. Feelings are fickle, they come and go. There are saved and lost people, they saved and the ain’ts. To be half saved is just false, can’t happen.

You can trust and verify. You be sure of this - see 1 John 5.

What is progressive illumination or as some call it.. revelation as it relates to salvation? The Holy Spirit can illuminate the truth of His word to us if we ask.

The truth is this.. individuals are either lost or found, forgiven by God or not yet forgiven because they haven’t repented and believed in Christ. They are either have a relationship with the Father through His Son, they each are either for or against the Lord, gather or scattering, they are either fully unregenerate or totally regenerated by the Holy Spirit. My opinion doesn’t really mater, but this is what God in the Bible teaches. How about you?

We Christians need to have a full insurance of our His salvation and not just hope so.. I mean hope that we’ll make it into His holy heaven one day. We need to have nail this down without a doubt.

Listen, what pain is to your body doubt is to your human spirit -- something's not right. But you can get the doubt out.

His great Salvation - if you could have it and not know, then you could lose it and not miss it.

What’s fully so.. is that if you have it, you really ought to know you have it. We all need boldness, great confidence in sharing the Message of the Gospel that He told to us to go share with those who don’t yet have it, or don’t really know they have it.

And let’s be real.. sometimes as Christians, we do have doubts and we don't know what to do with those doubts. We can pray about them and God can help us get em out. I say doubt your lame doubts, and believe your good beliefs.

listen, if it's not possible to have doubts then why did John write and say these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the son of God that you may know? It was because some there evidently were having some question marks about the exclamation-mark-free-salvation. Too many believers go around like an exclamation mark with her head bowed over, and some go round standing upright with confidence like an exclamation mark. What do you want to be like?

Salvation, if you can have it and not know it then you can lose it and not miss it. Let's fix this.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13

Instead of being a doubting Christian, choose to be a shouting Christian. I don’t mean to the point of hurting someone's ears, but in an appropriate place to the point of wholeheartedly praising the Lord from the heart.. and not giviin’ a flip what others think of you.

Of you are less lost today then you're still lost. One can't be half unregenerate or half saved. You can be more moral behaving but is your heart changed? Are you fully cleansed by the blood of the cross of Jesus through repentance and faith? One who is half righteous is still fully lost, but Christ can forgive you. a little baby half born isn't born yet. You are either a saint or an ain't -- you must be fully born again spiritually, because Jesus said you must be born again (John 3:3). Christ said: You're either for me or against me, you're either gathering with me or you're scattering.

“I wish to begin again on a daily basis. To be born again every day is something that I try to do. And I'm deadly serious about that.” ― Bono, (In a conversation with Michka Assayas)

But when I was born physically it was once, so why wouldn’t it be once to be born spiritually? Wasn’t that how it went with you?

  1. Physical Birth
  2. Spiritual Birth
  3. Physical Death
  4. Eternal Life

Back in the day to a religious teacher with questions, (some call him Nick at night), "Jesus answered him, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified, he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God.’” John 3:3 amp

Not again, and again, and again every day.

For those who have been born twice, they can only die once. There is no future judgment for those who have experienced this second birth by accepting Jesus’ death on the cross for their sins. They will never die again.

The second category of persons are those who have experienced a physical birth but reject Jesus offer of pardon for their sins. These individuals will die in their sins and forfeit the opportunity to obtain eternal life.

  1. Physical Birth
  2. Physical Death
  3. Eternal Death

I’m going to spend eternity in one of two places and I sure don’t want it to be in H E double hockey sticks.

Got More Questions about Salvation?

How can I stop questioning my salvation?

Jesus saves -- with me and other Christians, the Trinity was involved in this. The Bible says. “Who is the one who is victorious and overcomes the world? It is the one who believes and recognizes the fact that Jesus is the Son of God. 6 This is He who came through water and blood [His baptism and death], Jesus Christ—not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. It is the Holy Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. [He is the essence and origin of truth itself.] 7 For there are three witnesses: 8 the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three are in agreement [their testimony is perfectly consistent]. 9 If we accept [as we do] the testimony of men [that is, if we are willing to take the sworn statements of fallible humans as evidence], the testimony of God is greater [far more authoritative]; for this is the testimony of God, that He has testified regarding His Son. 10 The one who believes in the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies confidently on Him as Savior] has the testimony within himself [because he can speak authoritatively about Christ from his own personal experience]. The one who does not believe God [in this way] has made Him [out to be] a liar, because he has not believed in the evidence that God has given regarding His Son. 11 And the testimony is this: God has given us eternal life [we already possess it], and this life is in His Son [resulting in our spiritual completeness, and eternal companionship with Him]. 12 He who has the Son [by accepting Him as Lord and Savior] has the life [that is eternal]; he who does not have the Son of God [by personal faith] does not have the life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God [which represents all that Jesus Christ is and does], so that you will know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have eternal life.” 1 John 5:5-13

Limited atonement-is it biblical?

What is the biblical understanding of faith vs. works?

What is the helmet of salvation (Ephesians 6:17)? And why is it important to dawn that helmet?

Why is sola gratia important?

What did Martin think about this? What are the 95 Theses of Martin Luther?

What is the living hope in 1 Peter 1:3?

I am a Buddhist. Why should I consider becoming a Christian?

Are Mormons Christians, they sure do a lot of works? For real, are Mormons saved with an assurance of this inside? Uhh.. nope, but they might have a false assurance to go along with their false doctrine. Jesus was not the spirit brother of Lucifer, a fallen angel. Jesus was never a created angel.

We want all people to turn, trust and get saved. Will that happen with all. Nope.

Witnessing to Jehovah’s Witnesses - what is the key?

What are the essentials of my saving Christian faith?

Sharing my historic faith as an effective witness to Muslims - what is the key with that?

What are the doctrines of saving grace?

What is the difference between saving faith and hope?

Hey, what if I am a Hindu, why should I consider becoming a reborn Christian?

Is it necessary to fully understand the Gospel to go to heaven? Is it enough to believe it, even if we do not fully understand it?

"And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to wake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed." ~ Paul, Romans 13:11

- I have been saved from the penalty of sin (there was a moment, a date).

- I am being saved from the power of sin (freedom in the now).

- I will be saved from the very presence of sin (Live ready for this time in relationship with Christ, and help others get ready too. Point them to Him and the Bible. There is a way for each person. Yep, Point them one by one in the best direction for each one).
