Happy 2023 in the Lord!

The object of a whole new year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new nature inside, a new beginning, a whole new life, a totally new outlook, new friends to bring along with all the old ones, and a new destination.. because of the cross of Christ!

JOY = Jesus first, others second, and yourself last.

- Reflect on God’s faithfulness - Ps 40:11

- Release your failures - Phil 3:12-14

- Rest in God’s Providence - Jer 29:11

- Recover Joy - Phil 4:4-8

- Refocus on Jesus - Heb 12:1-3

Christ is our living hope in 2023 and beyond!

I’d rather be a realist instead of a pessimist, therefore as I survey the landscape in 2023.. I’d say that this new year hasn’t promised us Americans any good.. more than the last year did. But the Lord and His Bible promises have. Take hold!

When the outlook ain’t so great in the USA (or in any Land), try the uplook.

“His compassion never ends. It is only the Lord’s mercies that have kept us from complete destruction. Great is His faithfulness; His loving-kindness begins afresh each day.” Lamentations 3:21-23

How to be JOYful in 2023:

- Let God’s Son Jesus be enough for you every single day (He promised to meet all your needs, believer)
- Don’t idolize your feelings, any person, any place, or anything else at any time
- Stop being a control freak
- Quit trying to please everyone, live to please One Person
- Work hard and smart, grow up, mature, develop, walk righteously instead of out of fellowship, advance and edify, but resist becoming a workaholic
- Choose to forgive people starting in your heart (on two knees), and let go of all bitterness
- Fight against woke entitlement thinking / attitude
- Don’t obsess about circumstances beyond your control. Address practically what you can address practically
- Offer no uninvited advice, Kurt (cuz it can easily be taken as criticism)
- Be generous.. of yourself to God first. Know Him well and biblically make Him well-known (knowGod.org - Use good bait, fisher, I mean that the fish actually like, and cast a net or hook into every opportunity.)
- Avoid watching any and all worthless junk (come under bondage to zip, null, nada, nothing - careful what goes into your ear and eye gates, Sport)
- Regardless of what the corrupt world system or your fleshly nature demands, do exercise (on every level like in ernest prayer and studying truth) for wise application and God’s glory
