Sure, God does love sinners -- the pre-saved sinners and saved sinners. It's true.
God wants to be No. 1 in our lives. He wants faithfulness and fruitfulness from us as we follow His son, Jesus. He wants us to walk right and remain loyal to Him.
I've got to tell you though about two adults who came to Christ and from their testimony explained what they had too long heard.
When asked.. What drove you guys to the gospel and to Christ for salvation? They explained it.
Yes, these guys grasped it fully – they realized they both were on their way to that lake of fire, that they’d split hell wide open.. so they got saved and they didn't save themselves by good works. Nope.
So so many people today say that God loves the sinner unconditionally and He just hates the sin.
Guess what.. there are no sins happening in God’s holy heaven. Not today, not tomorrow.. not at any time in the future. They never will happen in there, and God doesn't send the sin to hell. He actually sends the sinner into hell. I don't want you or anyone going there.
What these people hear of this so-called unconditional love stuff .. is a very dangerous messsage.
When one person tells people, Hey God loves you unconditionally, I think there are a few things, more dangerous - I mean preaching that God loves everybody unconditionally. What’s the message that is heard by the people?
They hear there are zero conditions meaning one can continue to live just as they are living in full rebellion against God. They have zero to worry about in their sin, because “there are NOT ANY conditions that I have to make.” If God loves me unconditionally, then I don't have to repent and believe in Christ - I don't have to come to Jesus on His Bible terms at all. False!
I don't have to believe or even leave any of my pet-sins. I don't have to bail from my life of sin. There are zero conditions to meet, there are no strings attached at all. God loves me just the way I am – He's just glad to see that I turned out so very nicely and sometimes we close our eyes to what the Bible really says.
Frequently about God's posture towards the impenitent. The real God of the Bible clearly tells us that He abhors (any and all) sins. They will either be judged on Christ's cross at calvary (that happened int he past), or at the Great White Throne Judgement Seat (in the near future).
The wicked now just in the last year. John, I've had two guys come in.
I never want to help a sinner who is feeling guilty cuz he or she is and has been sinning.. to find a false assurance of salvation. If they are living in sin and trying to justify their sin, then I want to tell them so.. that they will split hell wide open unless the repent and believe in Christ.
