Where's The Action At?

“Prayer is where the action is." ~John Wesley

When was the last time that you read about Daniel in the Bible? What a great read. I love to be reminded about people that made a difference and we live in a day when God is looking to use people to make a difference - humble people with a prayer life. Remember how Daniel poured out his heart to God in fervent prayer (Dan9:2)? With all due respect I call him, Dan, but Dan had read Jeremiah and there is where he rediscovered God’s promise about Israel’s captivity in Babylon, that it would last 70 years. Daniel was a man willing and available to be used of God through his honest praying. Can you believe God to do what man cannot do? Have you tried everything else to bring change in your world? I love this story about Dan!

So, in an noble effort to represent his people before the throne of God, Daniel fasted and prayed in earnest. Yeah, Daniel basically pleaded with God not to delay in helping and rescuing His own people (SeeVerse19).

Do you pray like Daniel did? When we pray of course there are things that we can know and other things that we cannot know, but the Spirit knows all things. Today we can allow the Spirit to guide us in prayer and that’s when it gets effective according to God’s Word.

So what happened with Dan back then? Well, God answered him in a miraculous way and God’s response came immediately! Does that word, miraculous, sound just over the top? Well, God chose to answer in that way. He really did, so what more can I say about it? God got His angel Gabe involved. And God can answer you, believer, anyway that He sees fit. He answers every prayer with a yes, a no, or a wait. And He loves to say yes, so let’s just get down on our knees again. Here are a few verses I'm looking at today dealing with prayer that I hope will inspire you in this.

The Bible says, “But if we HOPE FOR what we do not see, we EAGERLY WAIT FOR IT with PERSEVERANCE. Likewise the Spirit also HELPS IN OUR WEAKNESSES. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but THE SPIRIT HIMSELF MAKES INTERCESSION FOR US with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts KNOWS WHAT THE MIND OF THE SPIRIT IS, because He makes intercession FOR THE SAINTS ACCORDING TO THE WILL OF GOD” (Rom8:26-27nkjvEmphasisMine). How cool that He the Spirit takes up ..knowing where we leave off ..not knowing. He just knows more.

Jesus Christ said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you” (Jn16:23). Are you in Jesus wanting His will to be done?

Believer, would you join me in prayin' something like... Dear God, we respectfully request biblical, widespread revival and awakening marked by true repentance - nothin' less, nothin' more, nothin' else - cuz our Lands are uber-ripe for such and we can collectively or individually do nothing without You. You've done it before, so please do it again. Pour out Your Spirit on a new generation who hasn't yet experienced this..in Jesus Name for His glory. Thanks.

Paul the Apostle authoritatively said, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Eph6:18).

The Apostle John said, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1Jn5:14-15).

“While I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel . . . reached me.” ~Daniel 9:21
