America has been dealing with spiritual sickness and it seems to have gotten worse out there. Yes, a spiritual sickness of sorts a.k.a. ongoing sin issues, and its symptoms are so visible in the moral decline here.
What we are seeing isn't due to a political problem; it's due to a spiritual one, and Jesus with His Gospel Message -- that's the only real cure. The people here need the ultimate Solution. We need God the Father's only Solution. That's Christ His Son; yes, all of us really need Him more than we know.
That's why each are called to Him and were given this mandate.
"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go [a]therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' Amen." Matthew 28:18-20 nkjv
Let's be clear: Christians aren't called to hide out afraid and passively in spiritual bunkers, the holy huddle. We're called to know, go and simply worship the Lord. We're called to Him, and also to live the life of holiness with Jesus leading as Lord.
We are called to be salt and light, to actively do good for people in this world. We do this as unto Him.
Scripture urges us to seize the opportunities to go bless others, especially those in the family of faith. Gratitude for our freedoms here does compel us to go engage, to support good measures that rectify glaring injustices and wrongs.
Christian, praying earnestly, influencing and then voting is important -- it's where we each can start.
Well thought-out, calculated, and balanced concern for those in our communities isn't just acceptable—it's really necessary today.
However, our involvement must never eclipse our primary mission: proclaiming the gospel with boldness and clarity.
We're not called to be political saviors but spiritual rescuers as led by Jesus the only Savior (for those in sin).
Look at history. Go recheck out Joseph and Daniel. They were used powerfully in government positions. Look at the centurion, Zacchaeus, and Cornelius again, who continued their civic roles after encountering Christ.
Their lives illustrate that righteous public service isn't incompatible with faith, but it must be secondary to God's kingdom.
God called Israel to be a priestly nation, and He calls the Church to be and do the same. We are a royal priesthood called to worship acceptably.. a chosen generation, tasked with declaring His praises. Our primary focus is the eternal, not the temporal.
I believe that Jesus lived in a society far more corrupt than ours today. Tyrants ruled there, and slavery was considered to be normal there. It was rampant, and injustice was also called the norm. Yet, Jesus didn't come to run for office (I'm glad when God calls a Chrsitian to run for an office). He didn't seek to overthrow Rome or to establish a political utopia here. He didn't organize rallies to reform sinners to be better people. He didn't organize seeking to "capture the culture." He knew that true transformation begins in the heart.
I am more concerned with who is in God's house (and really saved, not merely acting sweetly religious) than who is in the White House!
Jesus showed immense compassion spreading the message. He was healing the physically sick and comforting the broken. But even these acts of mercy were secondary to His ultimate purpose: reconciling humanity to God -- they each were won by one by one by one. One at a time. He came to establish a spiritual kingdom, not a political one here. He came to make new creatures of us sinners through the gospel, not to reform the old creation.
The Zealots, driven by nationalistic fervor, resorted to violence and rebellion at times. Not good. Jesus, however, demonstrated a different and better way. He didn't endorse their methods for physical force, nor did he endorse a complete withdrawal from involvement. Instead, He focused on regenerating.. and transforming individuals from the inside out, knowing that changed hearts eventually change the world. It's to be by God's power, not our own.
We can't make disciples if we aren't real disciples following the Lord. Leading well while following well is so important! Worship and making disciples ..while being one.. is what matters. Those are our top priorities. Political and social conditions are secondary. Jesus' kingdom isn't of this world. Our mission is to advance His kingdom his way -- to make disciples and to preach the gospel.
The moral, social, and political climate here, while concerning, it doesn't dictate the gospel's advance. True change comes from hearts transformed by Christ one by one.
Let us engage our culture with wisdom today (seems we need far more wisdom than yesterday), but never forget that our ultimate allegiance is to the King of Kings even during these days. Our efforts should point people to Jesus and to the eternal, not just to the temporal.
God really desires to save each one us us, and desires for us all to become spiritually healthy in Christ. He wants us to receive his free forgiveness a.s.a.p. and then live in His forgiveness... free from the penalty of sin, the power of sin under Satan, and to be free from all the accusations of the enemy and a guilty conscience as well. “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Any spiritual sickness or malaise of the soul has at its root a sin in the heart that should be confessed to the Lord, who promises to forgive (1 John 1:9).
The will of God for you and me -- for each of us is to know the Word well, to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen” (2 Peter 3:18).
America’s Real Crisis Is A Spiritual One—And the Only True Cure Is Biblically Spiritual As Well
An alcoholic doesn't really have a sickness (otherwise, they wouldn't be responsible for all those poor decisions they made), but they indeed have a sinful sickness a.k.a. an addiction. They need to repent of this, believe in the Son and then change. Let God work and change them from the inside out.
The Bible does not really talk about spiritual sickness per se, except in metaphorical terms.
Spiritual sickness today can be thought of as an unsoundness of spirit, caused by sin. Just as physical sickness weakens the physical body, spiritual sickness weakens the spirit.
Unbelievers are called “spiritually sick” because they are separated from the Lord and stand in need of a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. In fact, they are more than sick; they are dead “in trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1). I don't want anyone hell-bound. I mean headed in that direction. I want them to hang a U-turn from the sin to Christ.
Believers can also be spiritually sick and religious in the sense when they are living in unconfessed sin or they are failing to pursue personal spiritual growth allowing Jesus to lead as Lord.
The Bible promotes what is spiritually enriching as opposed to what would cause us to be spiritually sick: “The fear of the LORD leads to life” (Proverbs 19:23). And, “Truly the righteous attain life, but whoever pursues evil finds death” (Proverbs 11:19). “Physical training is of some value,” Paul says, “but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come” (1 Timothy 4:8). Godliness, righteousness, and the fear of the Lord are the remedy for spiritual sickness.
Many Americans have idols and are spiritually sick so to speak—not just politically or socially, but spiritually. The issue here is sin, this is what keeps hiring those of our Land. Even the innocent keep being harmed by the sins of those in this Land. The symptoms are everywhere: moral confusion, broken families, lawlessness, and the rejection of absolute truth. But these are just the outward signs of a deeper disease—sin. And no political movement, legislation, or cultural trend can heal a sin-sick nation. Only Jesus can.
There was a time when biblical values shaped American life. God’s law was honored, and even those who weren’t Christians recognized the Ten Commandments as a moral foundation. But today, those same commandments are barely known, much less followed. What once was called sin is now celebrated as a right. Immorality isn’t just tolerated; it’s legislated. The influence of Christianity that once shaped Western culture has been replaced by moral relativism, where truth is whatever society decides it to be.
The shift didn’t happen overnight, but its effects are undeniable. Political leaders and courts have pushed an anti-Christian agenda in the name of tolerance and progress. Abortion, pornography, and other evils are not just accepted; they are funded, defended, and promoted. The government, the media, and educational institutions increasingly silence biblical truth while championing sin.
What is the answer? Some believe the solution is political power—that if Christians could just elect the right leaders, pass the right laws, and win the right court cases, America could be restored. But is that really the answer? No. Moral decay is not a political problem; it’s a spiritual one. And the only solution is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus didn’t command His disciples to change the world through political activism. He commanded them to go evangelize and make disciples. The early church didn’t rise up and grow by lobbying the Roman government; they changed the world by proclaiming Christ, one soul at a time. The same is true today. America doesn’t need better laws nearly as much as it needs a spiritual awakening.
Politics can’t transform hearts. Only Jesus can. Laws may restrain sin for a time, but only the gospel can bring true repentance. If we truly want to see change, we must focus on the mission Christ gave us: to preach the gospel, live as salt and light, and call people to the truth.
Yes, the darkness is growing. But light shines brightest in darkness. The answer isn’t political revolution—it’s spiritual revival. And that begins with us. It’s time to stop looking to Washington and start looking to Christ.
Some Of History’s So Called Christian Activities That Played Out -- Man, They Really Highlight The Church’s Top Biblical Mission Which Is To Spread The Gospel!
Think about it. The church has sadly failed at times to do what Jesus told us to do.
Whenever the Church has focused on praying and preaching the Word (including preaching the gospel to lost people), it has had some persecution but has also really thrived.
When the Church has sought power through politics, through the culture, or through war, it has compromised its witness and grown weak.
Unbelievers I meet love to bring us the Crusades (along with the cruel religious men). The Crusades were meant and aimed at reclaiming the Holy Land for Christianity, yet they did weaken the church spiritually.
It's good to observe the political and military entanglements throughout history—from the Thirty Years’ War to Cromwell’s revolution—these have left scars, not revival behind.
Even some of the godly Reformers, while restoring gospel clarity, saw their movements hindered by political ambition.
It seems like daily it so easy to get shocked, distracted, or entertained by all that is going on in our world out there. There is so much bad that happened and yet there's so much good now happening to counter old evils that were done here.
Father God, Thank you for all the good that is now happening in our Land. We choose to fix out gaze upon you and your Scriptures. Please help us know and follow you real close. We ask you to help us order our thoughts, and to prioritize all we do. Please use us to glorify Jesus our Lord today.
Remember beloved, the church’s greatest strength has never been in earthly power but in the simple, life-transforming message of Christ.
History proves it: When Christians turn to social and political activism over spreading gospel truth, sound doctrine erodes, and our righteous influence fades. Early modernists placed moral reform above Bible theology—and they soon abandoned biblical Christianity altogether. It sadly happened.
Today, some evangelical Christians make the same mistake, championing conservative politics as if it were the gospel itself. It's not -- Christ’s kingdom is not built by legislation.
Do I want to watch and pray vigilantly? Absolutely. We were told to.
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41
Let's watch, pray and obey Him.
This legislation-mindset though, it breeds a dangerous illusion—that the church’s success depends on the government to act right. If leaders favor us, we will rejoice; if they oppose us, then we will panic. But no earthly power independent of the living Word of God can advance or hinder God’s kingdom here.
The worst tyranny cannot stop the Holy Spirit and His good work here, and the best government cannot save a single soul. Never will, and never has. Jesus alone saves and we are to wisely witness.
It can be fun to watch all that is going on, but our top mission is not to win political battles but to go win people to Jesus and make disciples (Matthew 28:19). The gospel—not fair elections (though I really want to see completely fair elections again)—changes hearts. The message of Christ's bloody cross at Calvary and the empty tomb is what we need to be talking about. Perhaps you would like to know for sure that you are right with God and ready for the Rapture that could happen any day.
There's so much talk about the last days these days, but you and I are actually living in our last days, aren't we? Some come to Christ right now and make sure, so you can know in your knower.
The church’s power is not in courts or congresses but in Christ. Let’s learn from history: our living hope is primarily in the gospel, not in politics.
