Q. What or who is worth living for in our day?

A. Jesus Christ.

Not mere for religion or for self. Why not live for Who has power to change and help you?

..but she who lives for pleasure is dead even while she is still alive. 1 Timothy 5:6

.....who is self-indulgent is dead even while she lives. (Always see whole context).

..who thinks only about having a so called good time when it ain’t really good.

Me thinks this verse goes for us guys too. Idea. Let’s live wholehearted for the Lord today who really delights to bless his kids. Yes that’s positive -- 100% livin’ for him, with each one of us doing his will for his glory. Far better for all. Nothing beats it really.

Sin can sure be fun for a season (learned this first hand), but the wages of sin is death. Flee youthful lusts.

Of Moses’ decision for life: “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.” Hebrews 11:24-26

You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.“ Psalm 16:11

He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from deep mud. He stood me up on a solid rock to make sure I wouldn't slip. He taught me how to sing the latest God-song, a praise-song to our God. More and more people are seeing this.”  Psalm 40:2-3 Lifted me the sinner out. Glad for that
Ain’t gunna be shocked when trials ..instead of pleasure arrives. In 1 Peter 4:12–13 we’re told, "Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world."
Man, we’d like things to be nice like all the beautiful photos in social media platforms. It doesn’t always go that way for us.
News flash for ya, Buckeroo: It will happen to you. Life is filled with pain. Granted, some have more than others, but every life will have some. We should gather this truth into our hearts so we are prepared when trials and temptations come our way. (Need some comfort, need some prayer? I will pray for you...)
There is danger in the compromise life, believer. God will give you a way out when you are tempted. During the good times and bad, during the trials of life or at other times ..please live pure by God's Spirit. By his power. God, let me put your word down deep in my heart with wise application, that I might not sin against you. Wanna run to you daily.
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalm 119:11
Yes, trust in the Lord cuz he is SO faithful. He won't ditch you!
Believer, live.. P.U.R.E.
1. Pursue godliness with those who call on the Lord from pure heart.2. Undo all defiling associations (even online).3. Remember there's consequences for disobedience
It's been said.. You're as sick as your secret pet sin. Remember Achan and his secret sin -- what happened?
4. Exercise good spiritual disciplines -- sow to the Spirit and not to the flesh or to this corrupt world. Mix sowing ain't for you!
No double life for you. A life of hypocrisy just ain't for you really, but God is for you. Every day!
The Bible says, "For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [live as those who are native-born to the Light]" Ephesians 5:8 amp
Do you remember Hank Williams? My parents really love his style of music best. I alway enjoy hearing my dad play it on his organ in the great room of their home.
Well, like other singers experienced, Hank lived a double life out in the world for quite a long time. I can't even imagine the temptations that famous people face. Never been there. But with his secret sins Hank got pretty sick of it all, and then God drew him close. That's always wonderful, and God helped him turn (humbly repent) and trust Jesus Christ (by faith).. who freely forgave and regenerated him inside. Can happen to you too! He sang about it...
"I wandered so aimless life filed with sin
I wouldn't let my dear Savior in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the Lord I saw the light
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light
Just like a blind man I wandered along
Worries and fears I claimed for my own
Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light
I was a fool to wander and stray
Straight is the gate and narrow's the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the Lord I saw the light
I saw the light!" ~ Hank Williams Jr.
