Obeying verses trusting.

Got a question for ya. Why is it easier to obey God than to trust him?

It’s because obeying God makes sense to us more often. In most cases his Bible laws appear to be reasonable, good and wise, and even when we don’t feel like or want to obey them, we usually concede that they are still good for us just the same.

But with the circumstances of life.. we find with ourselves that they often defy explanation. When unexpected situations arise in our life. You know, that appear unjust, irrational, unfair or even dreadful, we can feel confused and frustrated inside. And before long we begin to doubt God’s concern for us or his control over our lives. We can begin to doubt his deep agape love for us.

Opposition, trials, adversity.. they can be so hard to endure, and can even be harder to understand. If God were really in control (sovereign), why would he allow such a tragic auto accident, or a crucial job loss? Why would we get passed up when the majority say that you are more skilled, wise and adept to handle it? How could God permit cancer in a loved one or the death of a child?

Grappling with God’s concern for us we ask, “Why is God allowing this?” or “What have I done wrong to deserve this?” “Why does God seem kinda mean. or so deaf and distant?”

Choose to trust and follow Jesus regardless of your feelings (that you keep explaining to him) and he will work it all out for good. All of it. See Romans 8:28-29 and the context.
