People eagerly came to debate Charlie because they wanted to be there for different reasons. Charlie Kirk was NOT there casting his pearls before spiritual pigs and spiritual dogs per se. So many were hungry for the truth -- they were absorbing and learning. God was changing so many hearts.
So much grief is felt. Americans, for the most part, mourn today but there is a Comforter. There have been lots of martyrs around the world, and we often never hear about them. Sadly, martyrdom happens here in the USA. Remember on March 30 in 1981, when John Hinckley, Jr. shot and almost successfully made Reagan a martyr?
We can comfort people, but who is the Ultimate Comforter?
Cost of following Jesus: Everything.
Follow Him closely, follow now, realizing some people are open to hearing the truth, and others have chosen to stay closed.. for now.
"For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down—when we die and leave these bodies—we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven, homes that will be ours forevermore, made for us by God Himself and not by human hands." ~ Paul, 2 Corinthians 5:1
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9
"Our homeland is in heaven, where our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is; and we are looking forward to His return from there." Philippians 3:20
"Jesus told her, 'I am the one who raises the dead and gives them life again. Anyone who believes in Me, even though he dies like anyone else, shall live again.'" John 11:25
Think about martyered David Brainerd. He only lived 29 years. For only eight of those years was he a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. For a short four years David served as a cross-cultural Christian missionary. Yet John Wesley said “let every creature read carefully over ‘The Life Of Brainerd’” (see the book on his life written by Jonathan Edwards, a leader in the American Great Awakening).
Henry Martin said the life of David Brainerd caused “his (Martin’s) soul to be filled with a holy emulation of that extraordinary man; and after deep consideration and fervent prayer, Martin was at length fixed in a resolution to imitate Brainerd’s example.” William Carey even said that Edward’s book on Brainerd should be regarded as “sacred text”.
Many others, like Missionary Martyr Jim Elliott, and David Livingstone, (the pioneer missionary to Africa,) held David “with a kind of awe and drew power from him.”
John Piper said “I am tempted to speculate whether the modern missionary movement, that was so repeatedly inspired by Brainerd’s missionary life, would have happened if David Brainerd had not been expelled from Yale and cut off from his hopes to serve God in the pastorate!”
We don't know how many more Christian witnesses will be murdered before the Rapture and the Second Coming but you and I need to obey the Lord and be ready.
Some people are open to hearing the truth you share, and others are closed to it. It's a choice. Let's prayerfully go share the Message anyway with those who are hungry and open!
I say pray for the hardhearted and closed-minded folk, but don't waste your time talking with them when they really don't want to hear about Jesus, His gospel, or your own story of faith (testimony).
Have you had spiritual pigs or dogs try to make you look moronic in pubic before? As Charlie Kirk had, Jesus too had haters who sought to snare and catch him with his words. The fools did their best to win a debate. They tried to make him look idiotic publicly. Jesus warned his disciples not cast your pearls before swine (see Matthew 7:6). “Do not cast your pearls before swine..”
There are other people who need to hear the gospel, and they are ready to hear it. Jesus Christ instructed, “Do not give dogs what is sacred” in Matthew 7:6. Millions of people worldwide have pet dogs that they care for and love. Yet, in the ancient world, people didn’t have the same fondness for man’s best friend. As the Bible illustrates, people thought dogs were disgusting (Luke 16:21), dumb (Proverbs 26:11), and worthy of disdain (1 Samuel 17:43).
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus drew upon the poor reputation of dogs to illustrate an important point to His disciples about preaching the gospel. He said, “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you” (Matthew 7:6, ESV).
It is important for you and me to discern when to move on and “shake the dust off.” There's a time go and to take the message elsewhere. So many need to hear and we have limited time here.
Paul made this difficult decision when persecution broke out.. arose in response to his proclamation of the gospel in Corinth: “And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, ‘Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles’” (Acts 18:6).
Then he left the synagogue and began preaching next door (see verse 7). If Paul had continued to preach the gospel of Christ in the Corinthian synagogue, he would have been guilty of giving spiritual dogs what is actually holy.
I say the reborn Christian is absolutely immortal until the day that God calls him home to heaven. I say it's good to obey direct and delegated Authority.
God has a good plan for each Christian's life, and nothing can end their life prematurely without God allowing that to happen. Henry Martyn was the one who said that -- "I am immortal until my work is finished" and "You are immortal until God's purpose for you is complete." God is faithful and sovereign; therefore, faithful Christian martyr Charlie Kirk, though we will greatly miss him, didn't go home to heaven one minute too early before God wanted him there in heaven. Of course, the murderer should suffer the consequences. Sinners sin because they are sinners, like you and me (as saved sinners).. they were born in sin. Some have mental illnesses for different reasons.
Man, I say make insane asylums great again. Make America and capital punishment great again. There are still a lot of haters and killers out there that need to be off the streets.
Want the correct biblical worldview on this?: Find the real assassin, fair trial (non-telivized), conviction, hear and have the opportunity to respond to the basic gospel message, then swift execution. That's how to deal with murderers. Not drawn out too long. Find those behind him, repeat.
"A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I came to give life—life that is full and good." – Jesus Christ in John 10:10
They are not sinners because they sin. Sinners can hate, mock, hit and hurt you (in our hearts we can opt to forgive them), but they can not kill you until it is your day to come home to your heavenly Father.
Have you ever been mocked for your faith, cornered in public by someone trying to make you look foolish? Jesus Himself faced that. His enemies twisted His words, trying to trap Him. Yet He warned His disciples with a simple image: “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you” (Matthew 7:6).
In that one sentence, Jesus drew a line between judgment and discernment. We are not to be hypocritical judges (Matthew 7:1–5), yet we are called to discern—to recognize when a heart has no desire for the truth. Pearls are precious, but pigs can’t see their worth. Some people scoff at the gospel, trampling it underfoot. For them, preaching more is not faithful—it’s wasteful.
Jesus didn’t say stop sharing the gospel; He Himself ate with tax collectors and sinners (Matthew 9:10). But He did say if people reject the message outright, shake the dust off your feet and go where hearts are open (Matthew 10:14). Paul lived this out in Corinth: when the synagogue reviled him, he moved next door and preached to those willing to listen (Acts 18:6–7). That is not defeat—that’s wisdom.
Discernment doesn’t mean cowardice; it means stewardship. Why spend years arguing with a scoffer when others are hungering for truth? As Proverbs says, “Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you” (Proverbs 9:8). Sometimes, walking away is the most obedient thing we can do.
The Barna Group reports that nearly half of unchurched Americans (47%) are open to a conversation about Jesus if approached with genuine love. But that means over half are not—at least not yet. Wisdom is knowing the difference. Charles Spurgeon once said, “Discernment is not simply knowing the difference between right and wrong, but between right and almost right.”
And here’s a comfort: the gospel is never wasted when we obey Christ. Our task is to share, not to force. Henry Martyn once said, “I am immortal until God’s work for me is done.” That’s true of every believer. No persecutor, no slanderer, no murderer can cut short God’s appointed time. Even faithful witnesses like Charlie Kirk, though taken from us, did not step into heaven one second before the Father called him home.
Yes, scoffers will mock, dogs will bark, pigs will trample—but pearls remain pearls. The Word of God is never diminished by rejection. Our job is simple: sow the seed, love the hearer, discern the soil, and trust the Lord of the harvest.
Jesus in Luke 21:18 niv told His disciples, "But not a hair of your head will perish". That was part of Jesus' discourse on the Last Days (end times). He promised His followers that their spiritual life and eternal security are totally assured, even amidst persecution, attacks, and great suffering.
"So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves; for I will give you [skillful] words and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute. But you will be betrayed and handed over even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death, and you will be continually hated by everyone because of [your association with] My name. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your [patient] endurance [empowered by the Holy Spirit] you will gain your souls." Luke 21:14-19 amp
A reborn Christian following Jesus cannot die one second too early, nor live one second late. Our lives are in His hands -- we're immortal until the Lord’s appointed purpose for us here is complete.
So what are some practical steps of obedience to God with this in mind?
If our days are numbered by God, as they really are, then every one of them matters gobs. Here are some practical steps of obedience for saints with that reality in view:
- Live Courageously as Christ's Witness – Since you cannot leave this earth until God calls you, speak boldly for Christ (Acts 18:9–10). Don’t let fear of rejection or harm silence you.
- Use Your Time Wisely – If each day is appointed (Psalm 139:16), waste none. Prioritize Scripture, prayer, and meaningful service. Ask daily: “Lord, what would You have me do today?”
- Start and Serve Where You Are – God placed you exactly where He wants you. Whether at work, with family, or in ministry, labor faithfully (Colossians 3:23). Immortality until your task is done means your task today matters.
- Rest in aMeanful Bertical Relationship with God’s Sovereign Son – Stop worrying about what you cannot control (Matthew 6:34). Anxiety doesn’t lengthen life—it shrinks trust. Peace comes by remembering your times are in His hands (Psalm 31:15).
- Forgive People Quickly In Your Heart – Since life is short and pre-appointed, don’t waste it on grudges. Ephesians 4:32 calls us to forgive as God forgave us in Christ.
- Invest Eternally with Time Talent an Treasure – as He leads You. Jesus said, “Lay up treasures in heaven” (Matthew 6:20). Use your immortal-yet-mortal days for what lasts: souls, truth, and love.
Remember to pray for those you meet daily, believer:
- Be bold in Jesus (don’t waste courage. Ask God for boldness),
- Be faithful in Jesus (don’t waste time or your emotions),
- Be eternal-(instead of temporal)-minded in Jesus (don’t waste life on stuff that rusts or turns to dust).
Job 14:5 – “A person’s days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.”
Psalm 139:16 – “All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1–2 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die…”
Ecclesiastes 8:8 – “No one has power over the wind to contain it; so no one has power over the time of their death.”
Hebrews 9:27 – “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment…”

God is Completely Sovereign Over Life & Death
Job 14:5 – “A person’s days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.”
Psalm 31:15 – “My times are in your hands.”
Psalm 139:16 – “All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
Ecclesiastes 3:2 – “A time to be born and a time to die…”
Will you also sing this: “Though none go with me, still I will follow; no turning back, no turning back.”
* God is more than able to protect His born-again people until their work here is done
Acts 18:9–10 – God told Paul in Corinth, “Do not be afraid… for I have many in this city.” Paul was preserved to preach there.
Acts 23:11 – Jesus said to Paul, “As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.” Paul’s life could not be taken before he reached Rome.
Luke 4:29–30 – The crowd tried to kill Jesus prematurely, “but He walked right through the crowd and went on His way.” His hour had not yet come.
John 7:30 – “No one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.”
John 11:9–10 – Jesus said, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble…” In other words, no one leaves before their appointed “hours” are done.
* Eternal Security & God’s Sovereign Care
John 10:28–29 – “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
Romans 8:38–39 – “Neither death nor life… will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 1:6 – “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
2 Timothy 4:18 – “The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom.”
* What have you heard people say on this?
Henry Martyn (1781–1812): “I am immortal until God’s work for me is done.”
Charles Spurgeon: “Be not afraid of dying; it is but going home. The chariot may be rugged, but it runs to heaven.”
John Calvin: “God holds the end of our life in His hand, and has fixed the time when we are to depart.”
Jonathan Edwards: “God has determined the time of every man’s death, and no man dies until the appointed hour comes.”
Corrie ten Boom: “The safest place is in the center of God’s will.”
Jim Elliot (martyr): “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Death is the supreme festival on the road to freedom.”
Some are spiritual dogs and pigs--don't be like that. Not everyone will value the gospel. Some mock, some attack, some trample truth underfoot. We must discern: when hearts are closed, move on to those who hunger for life. Paul did this in Corinth: “From now on I will go to the Gentiles” (Acts 18:6).
That’s not quitting—it’s obedience. Proverbs warns, “Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words” (Proverbs 23:9). Jesus told His disciples to “shake the dust off your feet” (Matthew 10:14). Discernment spares us from wasting pearls where they cannot yet be seen.
George Barna finds that nearly 50% of unchurched Americans are open to hearing about Jesus Christ—but that also means half are not open. Living closed to the truth is a miserable way to live.
Have the holy fear of God in you. Ask for this. Wisdom is knowing the difference between types of good fear and bad, worldly wisdom and godly wisdom. As Spurgeon said, “The gospel is not delivered in vain when it is rejected, for even the rejection is a testimony against the sinner.”
Jim Elliot echoed, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” The blood of martyrs was not wasted; their lives ended right on time, by God’s clock.
What's the cost of truth? Winston Churchill once said, “The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.” And as Bob Dylan sang, “The enemy I see wears a cloak of decency.” The world may disguise its hostility for a time, but talk of the cross seems to strip it bare pretty quick. Out of the abundance of the heart their mouths hatefully speak.
So take courage. Don’t be discouraged by scoffers. Pearls remain pearls, even when trampled. Keep sowing, keep speaking, but walk wisely. As Paul wrote, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).
"He (Jesus) heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope." 1 Thessalonians 4:13
"Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8
"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake." Matt. 24:9
