F4S: “We heal our divides by talking to people we disagree with... You heal the country when you allow disagreement.” ~ Charlie Kirk (1993–2025)

“We heal our divides by talking to people we disagree with... You heal the country when you allow disagreement.” ~ Charlie Kirk (1993–2025)

Charlie would always ask that those who disagreed would be allowed to come to the front of the line, not to disrespect, slight, put down, or make fun of them, but to hear them out to understand, and simply dialogue with him.

And then he would ask everyone else to show them the kind respect that Conservatives and Christians didn't get on U.S. college campuses.

That's how it's long been. Although you and I don't want to upset anyone, really, with the truth, have you ever inadvertently upset the apple cart of society, so to speak?

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” —Paul, 2 Tim. 4:7

John, Dietrich, and Charlie (positively influential leaders) -- they each lived it and said what's so, but the truth they publicly and more privately voiced upset the feelings of some in power and other Liberals too.

We honor these men as we should, but like they did, we worship God alone.

It's not your truth versus my truth, and everyone with their own has a completely equal truth. No, no, if we each had "our own truth," there would be no truth at all. There's only one unchanging truth  -- God's, and that's truth.

What was the Confessing Church?

Who was Dietrich Bonhoeffer?

Who was Corrie ten Boom?

Was Hitler a Christian? No, he was a drug-abusing, hateful cultist!

How should a Christian view real fascism?

Why did God allow the Holocaust?..SADLY, that really happened and must never be allowed again!

Is it right to refer to some conservative Christians and their organizations as facists, nazis or hate groups? Nope

Regardless of the hateful words many say about them, we honor these good examples of courageous faith. John, Dietrich, Charlie -- these three men first knew the One who is the truth. They properly interpreted the word of truth. They lived according to the truth and said what was so according to the word of God, but it upset the feelings of some Liberals of their time.

Charlie Kirk's life was a living testimony to the transformative power of Jesus Christ. From his early years, he recognized his need for a Savior, acknowledging, "I'm nothing without Jesus. I'm a sinner. I fall incredibly short of the glory of God. We all do. I gave my life to the Lord in fifth grade, and it's the most important decision I've ever made, and everything I do incorporates Jesus Christ."

His commitment to Christ was evident in every aspect of his life. He often reminded others, "Jesus is enough, you are not enough," emphasizing the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice.

Charlie believed that, despite our shortcomings, God's grace is more than abundant, and through Jesus, we are offered eternal life.

Through Turning Point USA, Charlie ignited a movement that reached millions, empowering young individuals to stand firm in their faith and values. Following his passing, the organization experienced an unprecedented surge in interest, receiving over 37,000 inquiries to start new campus chapters within 48 hours. (Fox Business)

Not fickle or flaky--he stood firm to the end. Charlie Kirk's legacy is a beacon of unwavering faith, courage, and dedication to truth. He lived with eyes fixed on eternity, grounded in the truth of God’s Word, and driven by a calling greater than himself. As we honor his memory, let us be inspired to live boldly in our faith, steadfast in our love of freedom, and unafraid to defend our country.

His life was a reflection of the Apostle Paul's words: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

May we continue the work under the Lordship of Christ like Charlie did, standing firm in our convictions and spreading the message of hope found in Jesus Christ.

Charlie Kirk had a lot to (respectfully) say to transgender people, other liberals, and college students. Yes, these are people that he really cared about and in love reached out to win (to Christ) or encourage (in Him). Some of them got saved and changed. They speak about it to this day.

Seems like his statements about the deep delusions of thinking you're a woman when you were a man or vice versa really bothered many of them to their core. So many are determined to hang on to their sin. Charlie spoke about the perversion and twistedness of the transgender's sins (among all types of sins) and that's what got him killed.

Remember the very public person who married his brother's spouse, and how John the Baptizer boldly spoke out about this? John courageously rebuked King Herod Antipas for his unlawful marriage to Herodias, his brother Philip's wife. This marriage was adulterous and incestuous under Jewish law. It was sin, and John didn't ignore it, but speaking about this immorality got John's head lopped off because it deeply bothered Herod's wife to the core.. who was within reach as an influencer to her extremely immoral dancing daughter.

Herodias’s daughter went and asked her mother, “What should I ask for?” Queen Herodias replied, “Ask for the head of John the Baptist!” (Mark 6:24, NLT). Not skipping a beat, the girl hurried back to Herod and said, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter” (verse 25). Evidently, her cruelty matched her mother’s.

Yet earlier, Herod seemed entertained by John with his interesting godly bluntness.

Sin is sin, and God hates all sins because sin destroys the people He loves and died to save/free. You and I are sinners God loves. Christ is God the Father's only Solution for us. Charlie Kirk boldly publicly addressed: Christian, political, moral, and “science”-framed issues to help people — ie, those choosing a transgender identity, with intelligent remarks about all kinds of sins being wrong and destructive, natural law, etc.

Seems like Charlie's statements about perversion and the transgender sins are what got him killed.

Are there some parallels or similarities with Charlie and Dietrich Bonhoeffer - two Martyrs during very perilous times?

Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Charlie Kirk were both positively influential figures who faced violent opposition due to their outspoken commitment to truth rooted in Christian principles. While their contexts and expressions of faith differed, several parallels emerge in their lives and martyrdoms.

1. Uncompromising Commitment to Christian Truth

Dietrich Bonhoeffer: A German Lutheran pastor and theologian, Bonhoeffer opposed the Nazi regime's atrocities, including the persecution of Jews and the euthanasia program. His theological works emphasized costly discipleship and the necessity of standing against evil, even at great personal cost.
Encyclopedia Britannica

Charlie Kirk: An American conservative activist, Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA and became a prominent voice in promoting Christian nationalism. He advocated for policies aligning with biblical values, including opposition to abortion and LGBTQ+ rights, and emphasized the importance of religious freedom.

2. Opposition to Societal Injustices

Bonhoeffer: He condemned the Nazi regime's treatment of Jews and other marginalized groups, viewing it as a profound moral and spiritual crisis. His resistance included participation in plots to overthrow Hitler, reflecting his belief that passive opposition was insufficient.
bonhoeffersociety.org

Kirk: He criticized modern social justice movements, arguing that they often contradicted biblical teachings. For instance, he opposed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, viewing them as divisive and contrary to Christian unity.

3. Martyrdom for Speaking Truth

Bonhoeffer: After his involvement in the failed assassination attempt on Hitler, Bonhoeffer was arrested by the Gestapo. He was executed by hanging on April 9, 1945, just weeks before the end of World War II.
Wikipedia

Kirk: On September 10, 2025, Kirk was shot and killed during a public event at Utah Valley University. The assailant, Tyler Robinson, allegedly targeted Kirk due to his controversial statements on transgender issues.
The Guardian

4. Legacy of Influence and Controversy

Bonhoeffer: His writings, such as "The Cost of Discipleship," continue to inspire Christians worldwide to live out their faith authentically and courageously. His life exemplifies the cost of discipleship and the call to resist evil.
Encyclopedia Britannica

Kirk: Kirk's death has sparked debates over free speech and political violence. While some view him as a martyr for conservative Christian values, others criticize his rhetoric as divisive. His legacy remains a topic of discussion in American political and religious circles.
The Forward

5. Responses from Society

Bonhoeffer: His
martyrdom/execution was met with deep mourning among those who shared his convictions and with condemnation from those who moronicly supported the Nazi regime.

Kirk: His Christian martyrdom/assassination in the first week has led to a polarized response with many hateful Liberals losing their careers and rightfully going to jail. Some conservative leaders have rightfully hailed Kirk as a Christian martyr, while others, including some Black pastors, have criticized the political and spiritual exploitation coming from his death and have demanded consistent condemnation of what they call his political violence.
Houston Chronicle (
but Kirk wasn't abusive at all)

In both men's cases, their unwavering commitment to God and Bible truth led to their untimely deaths. While their styles and methods differed, both Bonhoeffer and Kirk still exemplify the cost of standing firm in one's sound beliefs to the end.. yes, in the face of oppressive forces.

Yes, Charlie Kirk's life did have some similarities with Dietrich Bonhoeffer's life - both were courageously bold as all believers need to be, while living in these dangerous, precarious times with fierce political and other divisions.

Biblical Themes

Here are some relevant Scripture passages that align with themes of calling out sin / perversion, speaking truth, and sometimes suffering for it:

Some Observation Points

  • Kirk often framed his statements in terms of natural lawobjective realitysin, in God’s truth, and what is literally moral decay.

  • Many of his claims (especially about transgender people) have been strongly criticized by medical, scientific, and human rights organizations as being false, demeaning, or harmful, but they are true according to the Authoritative Bible.

Selected evangelical sources

  1. R. Albert Mohler Jr. (Southern Baptist Theological Seminary)
“We are now witnesses to a revolution that is sweeping away a sexual morality and a definition of marriage that has existed for thousands of years.” — We Cannot Be Silent (promotional / book statement). AlbertMohler.com
(Mohler’s book and writings repeatedly call Christians to oppose the redefinition of sex/gender and to defend what he calls the “creation design”.) Coram Deo ~+1

  2. Russell Moore (public theologian, former ERLC chief)
“Ultimately, the transgender question is about more than just sex. It’s about what it means to be human.” — essay on how the church should think about transgender issues (emphasizes theological anthropology and pastoral response). Russell Moore+1

  3. John MacArthur (Grace to You / pastor and teacher)
(Paraphrase from sermons and GTY material) MacArthur argues the Bible teaches fixed created sexes and that churches must uphold biblical sexual ethics while ministering to people compassionately. See his GTY sermons addressing sexual morality and pastoral practice. Grace to You

  4. Franklin Graham (Samaritan’s Purse / Billy Graham Evangelistic Association)
Public messages and tweets: he has repeatedly affirmed that Scripture defines male/female and described cultural acceptance of transgenderism as contrary to biblical teaching; he frames the matter as both spiritual and moral. (Example public post addressing LGBT audiences and theological objection.) GLAAD+1

  5. James Dobson (Focus on the Family / Family Policy influence)
Focus on the Family materials and policy statements call for recognizing “biological reality” and warn against what Dobson’s organization labels “indoctrination” and harmful medical interventions for children. See Focus on the Family’s policy pages and FAQ on transgenderism. Dr. James Dobson Family Institute

  6. Tony Perkins (Family Research Council)
Perkins has publicly condemned policies that expand transgender rights (e.g., military service), calling them detrimental to Christian moral teaching and public policy. (See FRC position papers and news reporting quoting him.) Newsweek+1

  7. R.C. Sproul (Ligonier Ministries — deceased but frequently cited)
On created order and male/female roles: Sproul taught that God’s design for male and female is part of the created order and ethical teaching, and argued against modern redefinitions that contradict Scripture. (See Ligonier series on “The Role of Man and Woman”.) Ligonier Ministries

  8. Don Carson / Other conservative evangelical scholars
Many evangelical scholars (theological publications, The Gospel Coalition, etc.) have written that gender/sex is tied to created order and that churches must prepare theological and pastoral responses to transgender persons. See Russell Moore and TGC resources for representative positions. The Gospel Coalition+1

  9. Other institutional stances (examples from leading evangelical organizations)

    • Focus on the Family — publishes FAQs and policy statements opposing gender-affirming medical interventions for minors and defending binary sex definitions. Dr. James Dobson Family Institute+1

    • Family Research Council — policy resources critiquing transgender ideology and advocating for laws reflecting biological sex. FRC

    • Many of these leaders, maybe all, pair truth-telling with calls to show compassion to all people, as Charlie consistently exemplified; some use very blunt language that some critics find harsh.

Short contextual notes

  • Many of these leaders frame their objections theologically according to the bible as we all should (appeal to Genesis, creation order, Levitical/Deuteronomic texts, and “natural law”) and pastorally (concern for children, for what they call “medical harm”). See Mohler’s We Cannot Be Silent and the FOTF / FRC materials. AlbertMohler.com+2Dr. James Dobson Family Institute+2

  • Others (like Russell Moore) emphasize the human dignity of transgender people and urge the church to respond with pastoral care even while upholding traditional Bible doctrine. Russell Moore
