What goes before eatin’ it like on your face in the dust? “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18

It’s a new year, no stumbling allowed! : )  Let’s each ban it.

“The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible.” ― Dwight L. Moody

Man, I love the love Letter, the Bible, and the Author too!

How badly do you want to hear the Word? Your attitude and mine about this is so important. And what do we do because of it?

You can’t ignore a loved one and expect your relationship to thrive. That’s why it’s so important to fully embrace God’s Word.

How can I get wisdom from God? Ask.. request it, know Him well and follow close (None are wiser), choose wise close friends instead of foolish partiers, study His wisdom in the Bible.

What’s my 2022 meditation plan? It’s gunna be on the truth in Proverbs!  Am planning to teach through. Yeah, been workin’ why way through the book of Proverbs again.  I love this even more than I first did!  Years ago I started with it.. with it’s Author.  You too can go through this book, a chapter per day of the month, and through the book of Psalms too.. five per day. Wisdom and worship! The former helps ya live wisely on the horizontal with people and more importantly the later book helps ya go vertical better.. in your personal relationship with God. Truth and grace married!

Be careful so you don't miss as you follow Jesus (not full of care, but), we each will reap what we sow. Be kind. Q: How does oppressing the poor show contempt for their Maker (Proverbs 14:31)?

"Don’t envy evil men but continue to reverence the Lord all the time, for surely you have a wonderful future ahead of you. There is hope for you yet!" Proverbs 23:17

We are to be wise, but show respect towards God first and then toward all people. We are indeed to discern and wisely show love to all as well. Waste time with fools doin' foolishly? No, but at the right time with non-fools.. we are to properly give honor to where honor is due?

"Surely You set the wicked-minded and immoral on slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. How they are destroyed in a moment! They are completely swept away by sudden terrors! 20 Like a dream [which seems real] until one awakens, O Lord, when stirred, [You observe the wicked], You will despise their image." Psalm 73:18-20 amp

"Don’t envy evil men but continue to reverence the Lord all the time, for surely you have a wonderful future ahead of you. There is hope for you yet!" Proverbs 23:17

Got a son or daughter that’s a closed-minded scorner, a scoffer or a mocker? Pray for them. The Bible says limit your time with them as long as you can influence them towards the Word. Otherwise avoid them. If they become open to the truth, share the Gospel with them to win them to Jesus.

A scorner is one type of proud know-it-all. They might have their own religion while workin' their steps. God has one step for them, humbly repent.

They say they are a seeker of wisdom but in reality.. they won't choose to believe in Christ the wisest Person of all, and therefore they cannot find God's wisdom.

A scorner is one who mocks the things of God and expresses his negative opinion of God's kind of wisdom with derision, in order to involve others. They are an ungodly, bad influence. Fools may think foolish thoughts, but scorners go a step further in the wrong direction and blurt them out proudly. Many are rude and disrespectful of others. Scorners are unteachable because they refuse to listen (Proverbs 9:813:1). Proverbs 15:12 says it can be a waste of time and effort to show a scorner the error of his ways.

What more is there to see regarding a scorner in the Bible?

“A proud and haughty man— ‘Scoffer’ is his name; He acts with arrogant pride.”  Proverbs 21:24

Are you too busy for Jesus.. like too busy in serving at church? Sometimes, it’d be better for you to stay home, believer, to get alone with Him in Bible study, personal worship, and prayer than to always come to church without pausing for those things. Developing your relationship with Christ is the imperative priority.

I ain’t really striving to get’s God’s people into His word, but to help get His Word into His people. Into all people!

The Bible, it wasn’t written to me, but it was written for me too. What are some of my questions and or specific prayers as I proceed through or teach through any book in the Bible?

- What did it mean then to those who received it?
- What does it mean to those of this culture now?
- What does it mean to me personally?
- What’s the wisely practical application that glorifies God?

* God, help me see what it really says - simply observation.

* God, help me see what it means - sound interpretation.

* God, help  me see what it means to me – wise application.

Kurt, you have not taught if they have not learned!

God, I want to better grasp Your truth, and help others firmly grasp You Word too. Wise Ezra did that. He taught, and caused them to understand the truth and how it related to them where they were.

Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open square that [was] in front of the Water Gate; and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded Israel. So Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men and women and all who could hear with understanding on the first day of the seventh month. Then he read from it in the open square that [was] in front of the Water Gate from morning until midday, before the men and women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people [were attentive] to the Book of the Law. So Ezra the scribe stood on a platform of wood which they had made for the purpose; and beside him, at his right hand, stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Urijah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah; and at his left hand Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbadana, Zechariah, [and] Meshullam. And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was [standing] above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up. And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. Then all the people answered, "Amen, Amen!" while lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the LORD with [their] faces to the ground. Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, helped the people to understand the Law; and the people [stood] in their place. So they read distinctly from the book, in the Law of God; and they gave the sense, and helped [them] to understand the reading. And Nehemiah, who was the governor, Ezra the priest [and] scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, "This day [is] holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn nor weep." For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the Law. Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for [this] day [is] holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength." So the Levites quieted all the people, saying, "Be still, for the day is holy; do not be grieved." And all the people went their way to eat and drink, to send portions and rejoice greatly, because they understood the words that were declared to them. Nehemiah 8:1-12
