That's the kind of relationship He desires. We don't have to, we get to. So share Jesus because you want to as an overflow from the fulfilling union that you enjoy with Him. We import spiritually, and then we want to export the Good News and Christ's kindness like in practical service.
In general did you know there are three incentives for Obeying?
FEAR, DUTY and LOVE--You have to obey, you are asked to obey, or you really WANT to obey.
How have you obeyed before? Do you do that? How much time in between hearing a directive from perfect Direct Authority (God), or from flawed Delegated Authority.. and actually taking action to go do that directive? You know that time period correlates with your humility and spiritual maturity.
How can can we worship the Lord or alone win people to Him? How much can we grow or accomplish without the word of God? Zip!
That's why any effective attempt at sharing Christ with a lost person must begin with prayer and a God-given burden for them. What's that? It's basically a supernatural heart-felt concern for their long and short-term well-being.
"Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.. And I too will love them and show myself to them." John 14:21
God asks us and implores us to obey Him because He as our good Father has His kids best interests at heart. As we obey, we “remain in his love” and are filled with JOY! (John 15:10-11).
Lord God, I am just an ordinary person that needs strength. But I really want to obey You. Thanks for accepting and including me. Now I need to take hold of your grace to obey. I don't trust my old fleshly nature or this world's system. You are an all-powerful God that wants to bless me in this plan so that You can in turn bless other through me. I could easily like my nation stray..away, but instead I'd rather walk in the way and serve You every day. Please refill me with Your Spirit and show me where, how, where and what to say.
God helps us know and grow. And He uses ordinary people who obey and go.. in carrying out His extraordinary plan.
